I am currently off work on my second sick day in a row. That pretty much never happens. On Saturday, in the glorious sunshine, we invited a couple of people around for a barbecue. It was lovely. We sat in the sun and then came indoors when it got cold, and chatted, and had a lovely evening. I went to bed at a sensible time after cleaning up the kitchen.

I started throwing up at about 4am. Shivers, fever, the whole shebang. I was in no fit state to make it into work on Monday. I woke up this morning and also completely failed to make it into work. I feel a little better now after several more hours of sleep this morning and am successfully keeping my lunch internal at the moment. I will even go to work tomorrow, not least because I've been occasionally checking my email on my phone and feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount I need to do when I get back in. uuurrrggghhh.

When the painkillers kick in I feel like I'm faking it but then again when I wake up at 3am I definitely no longer feel like that. So, you know, that's a thing.

I have mostly been spending the last couple of days watching Parks and Recreation and am very excited to see that they've finally achieved London and are just outside of lots of the places I work. (Oooh! They're in a hotel I ate lunch in recently!)

Philip and Kirsty are staying over this weekend and it's Eurovision, and I feel a bit guilty that I am going to fail to be a good hostess. I wanted to have each person represent a country and had PLANNED to be a great party planner but now I've had to send out a message that basically says "sorry that I will have failed to clean the house and also I will have very little food in because I suck".

Hey ho.
