May. 23rd, 2003 03:19 pmAm no longer in snarky bitch mode. Hurrah me.
Was woken up at nine am by Mum. As I set my alarm for 9.30 every day except for the weekened (up at 8.00 on a Sat for dance and sleep in for a Sunday) and actually do get up, was rather confused as to why she was waking me up.
Mum: Come on, you said you'd go shopping with me?
Me (under pillow and duvet): Go 'way...
Mum: You said you would!
Me (emerging from duvet): I wouldn't say that. Go...
Then, as my sluggish neurones began sending messages through my synapses (I'm so proud of knowing that. We haven't been taught that yet!) I realised that actually, I had said that. In a foolish attempt to watch American Gothic, which I was too lazy to tape, I agreed to get up and go shopping with Mum. (I get kicked out of the living room at 10.30pm on a regular basis, and it's too much hassle to argue)
I had also hoped she had forgotten all about it, so I stayed up watched Alien 3 on C4 in my room. A mistake. It was crap. But the fact is, I was still dragged out of bed at nine AM and at 9.45 was sitting in the car on the way to Southport thinking "American Gothic wasn't that bloody good...."
Mum pulled me around Asda for nearly two hours. And it wasn't THAT bad, since the alternative was revision, and Mum is convinced I need more clothes. So I was pulled around George *blushes* for 20 minutes, and actually brought a skirt! GASP! I now own TWO skirts! Destroy the stereotype! It's a v. long, olive green combatty one, (my fandom is affecting my dress sense!) and I quite like it.
And because they were on sale, Mum also deigned to buy moi a CD. After looking over the CD section ("No no no... ooh, White Stripes... No no no NO WAY oooh, Evanescanse!" etc) I grabbed a CD.
Mum looks at CD. Mum looks at me. Mum looks at CD. Mum sighs, mutters something along the lines of "God, I hope your sister doesn't end up with your taste" and actually ends up paying for the CD.
I am now the proud owner of "The Golden Age Of Grotesque". I've heard it, but not actually had it. And now I do. And my MOTHER paid for it. Is this a world first, someones mother paying for Marilyn Manson???
And that was my day. However, I am now off to do some more revision, probably. Am actually very calm about exams. Here's my logic:
1. I didn't revise for my mocks, and I really do mean that. And I got good enough grades for Winstanley. With the amount of revision I'm doing right now, it should be enough to get me the grades I want- only two C's and the rest higher than that for going to SG6.
2. I'm not exactly thick. While I could be freakishly intelligant I'm in set one for most subjects and I can and WILL do well. Or blag it. Both are good.
3. The subjects I want to do well in, I know I will. The others I frankly don't care about anymore. (Pfffffffft Science and Maths! Sorry...)
So, yeah. Won't be online for the rest of today, since after revision, I have to eat and stuff, and go to Guides *sigh* and THEN BIG BROTHER STARTS!!! And I have a three month long summer holiday! Coincidence? I think not! So... like... woohoo.
For those that care: 25 days until the end of GCSEs!!!
