Eurovision is NOT crap,
loneraven and
shipperkitten and as a firm Eurovision supporter from many years past, Ir esent the implication.
Well, okay. The songs are crap. The hosts are worse. But Terry Wogan makes the whole thing bearable, ("I think I'd rather be watching the adverts. Woe for the BBC") and the scoring is always amusing. And, for the sheer fact that no one else cares, I'm going to post a Eurovision review. So THERE.
But I'll cut it. So, do what the thingie says, people.
I ended up supporting three countries: Austria, Germany and Turkey for no reason other than that their songs were slighlty mad. Also slightly supporting Belgium due to gorgeous Middle-Earthien themes in the song, and, fairly obviously, Britian.
Austria- It was basically a bloke who couldn't sing prancing about the stage, before going into a zzy Osbourne-esque guiter riff. Brilliant!
Turkey- Crap singer, but, actually, good song. And RAPPING (to an extent) in EUROVISION. Woohoo!
Germany- It was a really, really happy song. Should have scored more.
Britain- We deserved no points, but we didn't deserve to be last... Buggar you, Estonia! If you hadn't given the Latvians points, we'd have shared crappyness!
Anyway... Turkey won, so yay them. tATu were crap, made Jemini (us) look good. But Terry Wogan was funny, and thats the important part.
See, I've stopped talking about Eurovision now. Well. I tell a lie. I missed Patriot Games because it was on. :( ARG!
Haven't done much today. Slept in (hurrah), woke up, watched X-Men Evolution (bringing my mother to the conclusion that I do nothing but watch crap TV. She's right, but thats not the point) which, I am ashamed to admit, I am becoming somewhat addicted to. Then went upstairs and read a book for HOURS which is something I haven't done for a while. When I was younger (i.e. before the Internet) I'd go to the library on a Saturday, and then spend all weekend curled up in a quilt in my room, reading every single book, and I think I may do that this week between revision. If I'm missing, then y'all know where I am.
And after THAT I actually did some history revision, which was fairly non-taxing. I like history revision, for some weird and sick reason.
And now I'm here, rabbiting on about Eurovision. Aren't you all glad? And now I should go and do something useful, but my life is just full of complete indifference to EVERYTHING at the moment... just can't be bothered doing all that much.
One last note: In a homage to Big Brother, I'm re-reading Dead Famous. Makes me look at it in a differnet light...
