When you get to Liverpool (Moorfields or Lime Street, isn't it?) you change to the Wirral Line, and the trains there go two ways. You need to get off at Conway Park station so catch a train that's heading that way. The train only takes 10 minutes or so, and there's one at least every 15 minutes.

When you get there, exit the station and turn right -- you walk past a Warner Brothers Cinema. Cross the road at the end, and walk across the car park (at least, I think it's a car park!) that's slightly left of you and there's a giant glass-and-yellow bus station that curves round in a horseshoe shape. Really, it's kinda hard to miss... Ask someone if you manage to get lost. :)

All you need to do then is go to Stand 4, and catch either the 71 or 72 bus - between them they come every 10 minutes. The journey is between 35 and 40 minutes usually, and we can meet you at Heswall Bus Station (the end of the line, so everyone will get off) and walk back to mine.

Eek, that's quite long... to summarise:

Wirral Line - Conway Park (10 mins)
Turn Right, walk across car park
Big glass-and-yellow thing, Stand 4
Bus 71 or 72 to Heswall (40 mins)

Usually I'd leave Liverpool an hour before needing to be back in Heswall.

Would it be quicker if you came straight from Homebase and showered here or is that not near a train station? Or is that just not possible?

You can arrive as late as you want, we'll still be up!
