Mar. 21st, 2003 05:15 pmHave had a corker of a day. Yes, it was so good I even used the word "corker". I should feel ashamed, but I'm not. I'm genuinely content and cheerful and happy. And I know I shouldn't be, but I rationalised it like this- people are out there fighting so I can STAY happy and cheerful.
Morning... history. Favourite lesson on the week, so that was good. Then, cos it was nice outside, I went to play netball. I hate the sport, but hey, was a laugh. And it was warm. Thing I've learnt from PE is that running around shouting and someone being explicably being miles away from the ball means that they think you're keen when in fact you're just out of the way of the action. Anyway, it was REALLY sunny, and the sun makes me go a little hyper. Went back, got changed, and through lunch went outside for a bit in the GLORIOUS sunshine and forgot about GCSEs, war, Shrub, Her Over The Road, problems, college, singleness, fandom, everything. The sunshine always brings back memories, of me and all my mates lying on the grass together, not arguing or anything. Ok, wasn't as warm as usual, but still good.
Went back into the hall about half 12 (we have the Hall as our indoor room, as our Year 11 priveledge. We have music. Woohoo.) and a disco was being set up- some charity do for year 7's and year 9's. It was set up by 12.45. You guessed it, we had a 15 minute rave/party thing. I think the weather had made me a little crazy, because all of lunchtime anyway I had been as high as a kite- Anna and I were singing, at the top of our lungs "I LOVE YOU BAAAAABY AND IF IT'S QUITE ALL RIGHT I NEED YOU BAAAAAABY, TRUST IN ME WHEN I SAY.... OH PRETTY BAAAAAAAABY!" and we were all doing the YMCA. For no reason.
Anyway, they put music on, turned off the light and put on the sparkily lights. Oh dear god. I have a year of party animals, kerazy. :) We were all just laughing and giggling insanely, as we did the Macarena to Liberty X, (try it, it fits), sang the high opera bit to Jurgen Vries as well as doing the 90's Ecstasy Induced Dancing (big fish little fish cardboard box!) This then went onto Rammstein, too which I sang all the words- in German- and got German speaking peeps to translate, and we left the hall to Busted. I honestly don't care what the music is when I'm dancing and doing my partay thing, so I didn't care that it was weenybopper band with bad eyebrows. I was H-A-P-P-Y and so was everyone else- it wasn't just me and my nutty mates dancing, after all, it was the WHOLE year. Year bonding is a rare occurance. We can't stand each other, as a rule. It was just.... nice. The general good mood of the year prevailed all day- chemistry teacher gave up trying to teach eventually, and in cooking, we had substitutes- the art and the music teacher. The art teacher is insane anyway, and the music teacher had also caught the happy bug, and when he caught me reading the final chapter of "Triumvirate" he just raised an eyebrow and proceeded to tell me, June and Anne-Marie about the time he made lemon marangue. (How do you spell that?)
Irrational cheerfulness all day. To make my day complete, tap was cancelled tonight, so I could go HOME! HOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE!!! Even the fact I have to go to Guides is not dimming my fantastic mood.
Dance tomorrow WILL. But thats tomorrow. Today.... I'm a happy bunny.
(Have you noticed that when I'm miserable, my writing style is much more formal and... readable? Odd.)
Anyway, I'm going to go and be happy somewhere else. Namarie! ~Hathy_Col~
