May. 17th, 2003 02:25 pmI've got a hole in my sock. I know it's not a big deal, but it's a very big hole, and I like these socks.
Ah, randomness.
Anyway, last night. Had rehersal, which was... odd. My character is slightly weirder than I originally thought. Apparently she's going for the "flustered" look, which apparently I do really well. Apparently. :P Got a lift in with Helen, who was going to the same gig as me that night, which was a scary coincidence.
(This is going to be a really disjointed account, I can tell...)
So, came home from rehersal and got ready, and was rather proud with my final look, although the first thing my Mum said was "I can tell you've been listening to Marilyn Manson in your time off" (charming) which I was slightly worried by: black blouse and a black vest top underneath, blue jeans, black boots, straightened hair (egads!)and black nail varnish, which is a fairly regular occurance for me... ah well. May have been the make up. (I'll leave it your imagination, but I was definately going for the "smoky" eyes)
Anyway, waited outside with Simon and Andrew, and Lorna turned up, so in we went. Most of our year was there, but I sat with (learn these names, for they are important)
Lorna
Andrew
Simon The Absinthe Fairy
Danny
Day
Matt
Al
Rhiannon
It was a good night. I didn't drink *preens* since had to gt up early the next morning, so nursed an orange juice quite happily, while watching the band from school. They were.... OK.
Next band was crap, not to put too fine a point on it. I've hears some bad covers of Greenday in my time, but this had to be the worst. So everyone spent the time getting slowly more drunk, including ***** who's name I'm blanking out at their request. The third band I was cheering mentally over. Not because of the music, but because the lead singer had a TTT t-shirt, the Ring Poem as a tattoo and he kept on doing Gollum and Grishnakh impressions. Woooooooooooooo!
So, by this point, there was me, sober as a judge, and lots of other people getting steadily more rat-arsed, which worked well in my favour. Mostly, they were funny, AND got off with Lorna in the process. (Should I write that here? KT doesn't read this. I hope.) So, yay me!
However, Helen was also at the gig, as was Joanna. Both of them have been giving me very strange looks in dance this morning. "No... is she?" So there's the downside, but hey, I'm not complaining.
Danny and Day were hilarious. "I've had... EIGHT! AN' I got served. An' I've had blue WKD. Or it might have been red. Dunno, can' 'member... oh, I'm pissed..."
Left at about 10.45, but went to bed late, due to ringing in ears. (I'm so rock and roll) Woke up at 8, went to dancing completly comatose, learnt bits of new dances and can't remember any of it, and Helen gave me weird looks (so I copped off with a female in the middle of the Comrades Club! Big deal!) but... hey.
It was fun.
Unfortunately, Mum's not well, so, with my fairly achey head, have to cope with housework and stuff. Need to make potatoes and stuff soon, which will be a joy. *rolls eyes* Pass the paracetamol, someone?
