May. 20th, 2003 01:32 pmWhat the HELL has happened to my friend's page and my own diary page? Hello? Light purple and a different style??
Actually. It's quite nice. Besides, I'm too lazy to change it. I'll tweak it later, i.e. when I've actually got time. Think.... 18th June?
There's a little thing on the radio saying schoolkids, from ages 6-16 are tested too much, and they're going to withdraw SATs, etc. *hits self* For crying out loud! AFTER I leave school??? Not fair!
I have just completed my first music exam. Thanks for all the good luck wishes! It was... strange. The exam itself wasn't too bad, except for the question on, wait for it, Blade Runner under Film Music. I have a slightly strange brain, and all that I could think while looking at the question ("How is the feeling of tension and suspense displayed through the music?") was about the NOVEL'S title. Well. Short story, I suppose. But I had a little string of "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" going around in my brain, and I found myself stumped for the question. Buggar.
Plus, they summarised the film wrong. Time dimension slicer? Have I seen and read a different thing to AQA? Most bizarre.
AND it was a Craig David song for the last question. It's impossible to concentrate on music you actually know. You can only hear the words instead. "Bubbling to the left and we're bubbling to the right and AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH THIS ISN'T THE QUESTION!"
But the really nasty buggar was the room we were in. Music lot got shoved in the gym, as IT took over the hall. I should point out that we've had loud winds a heavy rainfall all day. Not fun in an echoey gym, although the music mainly blocked it out. But they turned the heating off, and we got slowly more chilly as the exam went on. In between questions ("you have one minute to read the question...") we'd all be sitting there huffing on our hands so that they'd warm up enough to be able to hold onto our pens. Argle.
AND I got kept behind at the end to re-do my cover sheets. I'd agreed to meet with some of my friends after the exam (they had IT) and they were sitting there, tapping watches and making faces outside the door... most offputting.
So. That was my first exam. English Literature tomorrow, hurrah. So, after checking email and whatnot, am off to read Mockingbird. < sarcasm > Oh, rapturous joy. </ sarcasm >
