I got LOTR TTT today. On DVD. Five days early.

*waits for fangirlish screaming to calm down*

It was by accident, too. I had a tip on a job offer in Homebase in Southport, and so I toddled down to help Mum in Asda for the shopping and to pick up a form. Whilst driving into Asda, there was the sign "Lord of the Rings- The Two Towers- Out 26th August!" However, another sign was posted over the top- "On Sale Now!"

So, my brain starts working as to how the hell that could happen. Came to the conclusion to was either a. highly illegal or b. misleading advertising

We get into the store, and yes. TTT is there in it's DVD packet for £14.80 (I had ordered it from Smiths for £26.99!) and when I asked the bloke at the till, quite bluntly "how the HELL are you srelling these early?" he informed me that New Line had contacted the management of Asda. And so, I brought a copy. Or Mum did, since I had no money.

From what I've garnered on the internet, it's a British thing, and not widespread. I've heard from one person about it. weetolkien has nothing about it. www.scribeoz.com/fanfic says nothing in any of the message boards, and it's a largely American and Australian site. MY conclusion?

"Rule Brittania, Brittania rules the waves..."

It's fun living in England.

In other news, Jess got into Winstanley today! I phoned up to ask, got her brother on the line, and promptly shrieked down his ear. I have a mate going to Winstanley! Thank GOD! It's brilliant, I was scared I'd be the only one. Oh, yay. It has been a good day.

I've spent a lot of today searching through my Winstanley stuff, actually. Looking for activites and whatnot. Typically, everything I want to do clashes- Performing Arts or Book Club? Magazine or Aerobics?

I'll work it out eventually. Winstanley just looks like it's gonna be a hell of a head rush, with all kinds of fun going on in the first week. And you know what? I feel all optomistic. I'm going to love it.

Well, it can't be worse than St Bedes, at any rate.
