Aug. 26th, 2003 06:41 pmToday, I actually did something. Aren't you all proud? Went into Liverpool to actually get some of the clothes I needed. I dragged Jess with me, since we are officially Going To College Together. All I wanted was a pair of jeans. I knew the style. I knew the colour.
I did not know it was going to be so bloody hard. The world is designed for tall, thin people. I am neither. Quiggins did not yield anything that a. fitted or b. I liked, so I wandered around in other shops. I had a hissy fit in TopShop, when only the cropped trousers were the right length. I had picked up a size twelve, which is my dress size, and I toddle off to try them on. The jeans didn't fit around the waist OR even come close to my length. I could put all my foot in the leg and still have denim flapping away. Much rantings of "I KNOW I've not put on any weight over the summer, and there's no WAY I've shrunk, so SOMEONE isn't labelling their clothers correctly, I'm SURE that's ILLEGAL..."
Jess dragged me out, and I think we should be grateful. Eventually went into H&M. I claim allegiance to H&M for the rest of my days, and will happily forgo my links to New Look. (I'm so sad.) H&M had EXTREME FLARED jeans (which was what I wanted!) in dark blue (which was what I wanted!) at £30.00 (which was my budget!) with 30" leg length. Which fitted.
I'm ashamed to say I actually danced in the changing room. So did Jess, out of sheer relief that I wouldn't drag her into Quiggins again.
So, with happy new jeans, we just wandered around for the rest of the day. Apparently, I must have missed

purplerainbow and
chanandlerbong at some point. Ah well.
Now all I need for college is a whole lotta folders. Well, 5- one for each subject and one for daily use. Problem- I have total £15 left in the whole wide world. Problem- am going to cinema tomorrow.
Maybe I can claim jean money back from Mum. Since they have educational purpose. Um. Yes. Or maybe I can wait until Friday to see if I NEED folders! Yes! And Mum will be paid by then! Aha! Excuse my manical laughter. For the first time, I actually really, really want the Homebase job. £20 a week would be niiiiiiiice, and pay for little things, like CD's and jeans.
Hmm. Babbling, now.
One last thing! KATIE GOT INTO KGV!!! Hurrah! She was so nervous that she wouldn't have the points, and she didn't, but they let her in. Yay!
(Who knows- she may even meet
cucharita. And that would be fun. Sayeth me.)
