Sep. 10th, 2003 05:33 pmOkay. I love college, and we'll put more on that later. But at the same time, I really miss college. Katie is ill, apparently, and it was Simon and
cucharita who told me! Lorna texted me today! Why didn't she say? Why am...
I suddenly feel very isolated from my old group of friends. I miss seeing them every day. But am. v. glad that Jess came to Winstanley with me.
So... last night. Work. People. *shudder* Two hours training, before actually getting to experiment on real, live customers, with a trained bloke standing behind me and being helpful, since I was an imbecile and kept on hitting the wrong things. I almost cried when one of the customers was a sarky bastard and I got stuff wrong. It really was just one of those moments where you want to wail, in one long breath "ButI'monlyjustTRAINED, anditsmyfirstdaydon'tpickonme!"
Bastard.
Came home, watched American Gothic and felt traumatised as what they did to poor Dr Matt! And Lucas is eeeeeeeevil. But we already knew that.
College was fun today. Lots of shrieking in our free period between
flickerswitch and I doing random impressions of impressions at each other. "Get in ca! Get in ca!" "I'll take pheasent, and filet mignon, and do you have partridge? Wonderful, bring on the partridge..." As well as slashy squeaking about ROTK. And Bagenders. And general fangirlishness, causing Jess to run away veeeeery quickly. And then I went and watched FOTR on the big screen, although we only got up to Gandalf jumping from Isengard. Plan to watch more tomorrow, but I've got creative writing! Oh no! Well, not oh no, since I might sneakily do my English homework, but there we are.
My English homework consists of my writing a poem. I'm not a big fan of poems in general, and the type that aren't limericks annoy me more. However, since I feel that a poem starting "there once was a man from nantucket" won't class as emotional, or about my favourite thing, or imagist, then I'm screwed. I ended up starting it in my free period, and I'm writing about writing. Basic image being the idea that I'm the slave and the master of the worlds I create... not sure. It's a little strange. Oh well.
Fun in politics as well (I was the only one that knew that Tibet, while part of a confederal state, was actually a theolcracy! Look! they're teaching me new big words! I like big words!) and media studies. I like college. I do. I just really miss my friends.
Oh well.
