nepygill is alive! And doesn't get the whole Trip/Archer/Malcolm love triangle! And has season 3 of Evo! They're going to start playing it on Toonami, but waaaaiiiiittttt, they're playing it AT THE SAME TIME I GET ON THE BUS TO LEAVE COLLEGE! Am seriously considering paying my sister money to get them taped.
Actually, this will be a generally fangirly post. My apologies.
Secondly: Boudica, and I appreciate the irony in spelling the name wrong in my last post. I also stand completely and utterly corrected. It was superb. I wish I had taped it, and that I could send it to every Warrior!Mary-Sue author, or any who trivialise rape scenes. It was moving, powerful, it had a love story and it wasn't actually a massive part of the plot, Alex Kingsley was wonderful, the guy playing Nero was amazing, there was blood, there was gore, and it was just generally terrific. The ending was a bit too abrupt, and to my mind, Issyduir or however you spelt it just sounded like Isildur every time I heard it. It still rocked.
But the sword was still wussy. Dude, it looked like Sting.
New Stargate season tonight! STARGATE! STARGATE! New season! My show! My preciousss! (oops, fandom slip) I'm very excited. I have the tape all ready, too. I actually have space after Full Circle for it, so it works out. *huggles Stargate*
Um... what else? Ah, yes. Normality.
Today at college was a little odd. As per usual, lots of time off since it's Monday, and I just ended up eating a lot of toast out of the boredom as I sat in the canteen with my copy of Masquerade. Therefore, I was bloody ravenous by the time I was going home, since the whole "I'm hungry" thing hit an hour later than lunch was. Oops. But spent dinner withflickerswitch, so that was fun, and got glared at by Jonathon (the phrase 'raving psycho' springs to mind), which was less fun. Also! Scaryness at lunch!
I went to ask Fran (personal tutor) last week if there was a gay/lesbian group in college, and she said no. Anyway, she nabbed me on Friday to tell me to go and find this English teacher to ask about it, so this lunchtime, withflickerswitch in tow, off I go to the English office to try and find her. James Dale's mum opens the door, since she is an English tutor, and cheerfully informs me "Hi, Colleen!"
Was *this* close to yelping in terror. Why does James Dale's mum know my name? Why?
Anyway, found Emma, and apparently I will be the first to know when she gets the publicity done. I feel proud. Although disturbed as to why James Dale's mum knows my name. Huh.
Speaking of English, we were talking about Versathon in class, and someone mentioned that one of thier poems was being written out. So I mentioned that me and a friend were doing a half hour, and the teacher looks over "Yes, that Tolkien one isn't it?"
So they're talking about me in the staff room too? Argh!
Speaking of Tolkien, I'm going to be noble. I really am. I'm not going to download ROTK trailer. *grits teeth* I will be strong. I will have but my Eowyn icon and the trailer on TTT DVD to sustain me ROTK wise. It was about this time of year I started avoiding spoilers last time. I will be good. I will. And yes, I know that having read the book then I already know the end, but thats it. I'm not going to look for any changes, I'm going to be pleasantly surpised (well, not if it's like the Haldir fiasco last year) and then I'm going to cry buckets because it'll be all over. So no. No spoilers for Colleen! Please?
