Oct. 2nd, 2003 07:39 pmCan't be bothered tonight. I'm going to sit back with a cup of tea, TTT soundtrack on, cos it's prettyful and I haven't heard it in a while, and I am going to go fic-hunting in a while.
Today was a very bad morning. I leave the house at 7.45, since otherwise I'll miss the bus. What time did I roll out of bed? 7.30. Mum woke up (thank god) and I panicked thoroughly and rolled around trying to find everything. I had no shower and no make-up, and it was all just generally bad. As
loneraven points out, it is indeed October. Mist was rising from the park, and little shafts of sunlight were coming through the empty branches of the trees on the little island in the middle of the lake at Coronation Park. It was abosolutely beautiful. I love this time of year, and I also love March-June. So much change!
It's also BLOODY freezing.
Key Skills rounded off my perfect morning. The woman is so bloody patronising. I am not an expert at IT, but at the same time, I run my own fricking website. I do not need to be told how to use google efficently. I do not need to be told what a database is. She told us how to search for our own names, and random amusing fact:
loneraven came up for me, as she discusses Fic From Hell #3. I laughed my socks off. She also gave us some facts to search for a random woman, and I found her the first. (Amelia Earhart, for those that care.) Within my first search. I felt very, very smug, and laughed my socks off.
Then it was Media Studies, in which they let us play around with a camera. Or, Steff played around with the camera and we posed. To quote from The Truth (it's a Discworld) "Another word for iconograph is photograph, but the Lativian world Photus, which means..." "To prance around like a pillock as if you owned the place?" But twas most fun. Still have to finish off the film, which we're doing tomorow lunchtime, without
flickerswitch since she is off somewhere. (Argle! Can't remember where!) But... oh well.
English was a nice half lesson discussing stories, and what makes them interesting. I managed to get a His Dark Materials reference in there, and also an American Gothic reference. ("It's like Lucas Buck... the thing is, he's a rapist, a murdurer, he's into the extortion too, but at the same time, he's completely personable and does do good things!") I feel proud.
Lunchtime beckoned, which I ate a doughnut. My food habits are terrible, and I am going to start eating properly next week. Definately. Then we went and watched the film again (God, Monica Belluci with long hair. Yum, yum, YUM!) and then it was creative writing. Our slot for Versathon is sorted, and the Boromir fic has been censored (to quote: "Can we swear in this, please?" "What words?" "Bastard and piss." "Go for it!")
History last. *huggles history* I really love history. No one else seems to like the teacher, but think he's brilliant- he's completely mental, he goes off on one about random topics, but that doesn't matter because I remember random stuff like that. And... yeah. Plus, being informed that "Yes, you'll do very well at A-level history" was a hell of a confidence boost. And then I went home, and that was my day. Fun!
Oh, and
flickswitch, I have been playing on google, and the guy who scored Gladiator and the guy who scored Pirates Of The Caribbean is one and the same. Hurrah!
Tomorrow is uniform day. I did fancy going in full Ranger gard, but I couldn't find a blue skirt in time, so I've gone back to the idea of a Homebase uniform. But I'll wear my normal pants, since I can't be bothered wearing my work pants to college as well. But they'll still be black, in deference to the uniform. Tomorrow will be most fun! I probably should go and find a camera, actually, but I can't be bothered. Oh well...
This'll be my last post until Saturday evening... Friday is Guides night, and I need to get some homework done too. And Saturday is work (ugh) as well as finishing homework, since will be seeing Andrew on Sunday. YAY! So, if I don't get on before Saturday, HAVE FUN AT COLLECTORMANIA
mettanna and
flickerswitch! I'm so jealous it's scary.
