Nov. 19th, 2003 01:14 pmOnce more, I'm not in college. Yesterday, as Martin told me on the bus: "God, you look terrible."
I had a reason too look terrible. I'd be up since 6am yet somehow managaed to be late and had to run uphill to get the bus. Since my internal thermostat was playing silly buggars again, I was already quietly roasting to death, and running plus remaining on a bus for an loooooong hour due to the roadworks meant I was not feeling well at all.
flickerswitch, who was also not feeling up to par and I then skived went to do research. In the canteen. With tea. I then felt better, although I was still all achey and sore. Condition improved slighlty by bizarre lessons involving a lecture on- wait for this- the obvious capatalist message of Thomas The Tank Engine. Well, it's one way to learn the First Past The Post form of democratic voting.
I then went home on the bus and, after statutory painkillers, ate lunch and watched ( The Spoilery Space Race )
I then wandered out to the doctors. I was told that this thing is indeed a form of the flu, and that pretty much every third person has it. He also said to perhaps take a few days off to rest, but, being me, I figured that I could just take today off and sleep for a day and feel better. I also got given a scarily large dose of medication for my face, to which all I say is: about time.
So, I went home, got changed, went to work *wails* which was quite horrific, as per usual. I then informed that I wsn't to be woken up for any reason whatsoever, and I went to bed.
I stayed there until 10.55, which was the time my alarm was due to go off so I could phone in sick. After eleven hours sleep, I feel absolutely loads better. It was restful, too. I know this since you can tell my nights sleep by the standard of my hair. My hair was, for lack of a better term, flat this morning. Lovely!
So now, I'm still slightly achey and my throat hurts, but waHEY my internal thermostat is sorted out and the headache is negligable. Will definitely be in tomorrow, although I'm extremly annoyed that I've missed out on Fight Club. Alas. Etc. Sorry,
flickerswitch! *feels guilty*
And now I'll go and do my history homework. Gyah.
