Dec. 26th, 2003 06:20 pmHoly crap, I'm tired. Which is odd considering I rolled out of bed at 11.30 and promptly went back to bed for another half hour.
So, yesterday was Christmas Day. As suspected, I ate rather more than I should have done, including Christmas dinner, apple pie, an entire tin of custard (it was just there, and before I realised what I was doing, it was gone) and quite a few other bits and bobs which amounted to probably more than everyone else. Put together.
As aforementioned, I was also spoilt rotten, and enjoyed it muchly, as you do. I managed to read all of Wee Free Men, which rocked. ("Drinkin', fightin' and snafflin' coo beastie!") I listened to Fever To Tell by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Mutter by Rammstein and I watched 2/3's of TTT:EE. This is because I was absolutely knackered, and desperately needed to at least watch a little.
Bloody MARVELLOUS, and only on the basis that it finally filled in the strange characters that made no sense. Well. They do if you've read the books. If you've not read the books, you'd be confused, and if you had, you'd be pissed off.
See, there's a little rating system in my head of Favourite Stuff in fandom, and I feel hurt when they are. In LOTR, I felt that some of my favourites got the short end of the stick, i.e. Faramir and Eowyn. But look! they get BACKSTORY! (And Sean Bean!) Small, little comments which make it all make sense, even absolving Peter Jackson from my complaint that Eowyn was too nice. YAY! So, I'll be watching the rest tonight.
Erm... where was I?
Ah, yes. Woke up this morning, felt grotty. And ill. *thwacks Uncle* This one is easy to identify. On Christmas Eve, Uncle Chris turned up at the door. I answered it. He refused to come in since he was ill. Contagious bastard!
However, I didn't do much today other than generic laziness. First fun was reading Monstrous Regiment, which I haven't quite finished. It ROCKS. Absolutely and completely. For some strange reason, I can't help but love Maladict. A vampire with a craving for coffee beans? Nice. Plus, yay! Vimes! William De Worde! Huzzah!
I also watched Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure. I'm not going to describe it, since I won't be able to not use the word 'excellent!' There's something endearing about watching historical characters wreak havoc.
Anyway, I don't think I have anything better to say. I have to go to work tomorrow: 10-4. How depressing. Will need to take lunch, now I think about it. Well, it's not like we're short of food...
I'm still tired. Weird.
