And also: piccies for which you must thank the queen of photos, [livejournal.com profile] balthaser.

Actually, speaking of, I have been having fun with the episode synopses and An Idea. Who do I send them to?

Anyway. That has, so far, been the only redeeming feature of my day. I thought I had set my alarm for 10.00. So when I woke up and squinted at my clock, the alarm had not gone off. "Hmmm," I thought. "I'm awake at 9.45." So I lay there in my warm and comfy bed, until Mum rapped on the door. "It's 10.45! Move!"

Buggar. Hared around the house, I meant to put my contact lenses in put it's a twenty minute job, and that was time I Did Not Have. So, I managed to be clean,. I even ironed my work t-shirt (couldn't find the badge though...) and threw cereal down my neck.

And then Megan's friend turned up.

For those that don't know, I am the intelligent one in this family. I am lucky enough to have a personality that is most definitely not stupid and I do like to be the best at the things I enjoy. Megan is not the intelligent one. She coasts along and does enough. And she is taking double art as opposed to real GCSEs the more traditional route of two seperate GCSEs. Well, bobbins to her. Except, of course, she's doing it because her friends are doing it, and she's not doen the coursework that's shortly due in for it. So, she was off to the beach - with Helen - as the beach is just down the road from my work, so much in the way of car sharing and stuff. When she got her SLOWASS ACT TOGETHER we finally went along the EXTREMELY SLOW ROADS. I ran into work and barely clocked in.

And the day managed to suck on so many levels. It is the Bank Holiday Weekend, in which people traditionally come and worship at the alter of DIY, A.K.A Homebase. And The Powers That Be, who have never set foot on a real, working, shop floor, decided that it would be a good idea to put a 10% Day on as well.

Utter, utter chaos. Most of our transactions are with credit cards and the fucking system went down. Every card pt through with CHIP and PIN was declined, so you had to type in the number. And then, just to put the icing on top of the cake, authorisation for EVERY SINGLE CARD. This was Not Fun and all hell broke loose. Cashiers agreed it was best to close the store until it got sorted. Customer Services agreed it was best to close the store until it got sorted. Manager Upon High disagreed.

ACK.

And now I am at home, thank god. Mum is making lasagne, and this, combined with the loffley friends, and the fact that I can carry on reading [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project for a little while.

I'm easily pleased. But it is very good lasagne, and the fic is just... ohmigosh I'm in LOVE.
