hathycol: (the colleen show [balthaser])
Spent last night watching the rest of a cast commentary and towards the end of it I just cried. This is not good. A lot fo the film didn't make me cry, as without the music and dialogue I'm not so affected (although still tingly for the Beacons, still sniffly when Theoden kicks the bucket, still not numb enough for Eomer finding Eowyn) but oh my god, the titles make me cry. It's the horrible realisation that oh-my-god it's the end of LOTR. Now, I was a LOTR geek before the films came out. As a fairly young 'un, I remember seeing the first ever trailer when I went to see a film with my friends. Can't remember to film but I do remember reciting the Ring poem and getting very excited because "Wow! They have ARMIES! Cool!" Despite immersion with the Silmarillion, etc, etc, I love Lord Of The Rings. It is my favourite. I love the idea of a Quest, of a Fellowship, of friendships and fighting and bravery and heories and villains. And then, when the ROTK:EE ends, that means that it really, really is the end of anything LOTR based.

And then I quietly break down again. Oh, god. It makes me so upset all over again. *wails*

So, last night I rolled into bed after quietly sobbing ("oh god it's OVER and this is NOT GOOD") and fell asleep quite quickly. I woke up at 12.30pm.

*facepalm*

I have, obviously, done nothing this morning but both rue and lament the fact that Battlestar Galactica is on tonight and I will need to beg and plead to have it taped...

As such, I have stolen photos from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow and I am now going to put some of them here, although I am not stealing from her bandwidth. They are all really rather silly, bein New Years, and this being my journal, most include me. *shrugs* What can I say - publicity whore.

Not so good for dial-up, sorry. )

Finally, yet MORE proof of The Colleen Show. [livejournal.com profile] kts2k is a good buddy of mine from the Ye Olde Days when we had the same form class and sat together in history in high school. She had a friend called Patsy, who I met a few times and more recently spent a good night in September doing the Macarena to anything that came on. ('Is It Cause I'm Cool?' is what I remember the most). I have not seen Patsy for a while.

[livejournal.com profile] emerald_embers is Patsy's SISTER. Oh my god. The Colleen Show strikes again! If I were of a less sane mindset, this is the kind of thing that would make a girl paranoid.

I am tired now, and really should attempt some revision. First, though, I'm going to layer the house with tinfoil so that they stop picking up my brainwaves.

For reasons best known to myself, I am going a-looking for Legolas badfic. It's going to be awful and physically painful, but I have tears streaming down my face at some of the Legolas-Aragorn hurt/comfort. So bad it's just... bad. This is beyond Flash Gordon badness.

Recommend me some. Please. Revision is so not about to happen.
