Congrats to [livejournal.com profile] flickerswitch for getting into Leeds! I don't know anyone who deserves it more.

Work is horrible, Guides are horrible, jetlag is horrible, white van drivers are EVIL.

That is all that needs to be said regarding my Friday and Saturday, when I was too tired to go online to write that down but equally too awake to sleep. That is so crap on so many levels.

Sunday, on the other hand, was rather fantastic. I had a fabulously long lie-in and quietly awoke in time for a shower and defuzzing, as the USA was not conducive to shaving, for various reasons. Being a woman is FUN, as the vast majroty of my list know.

However, feeling conditioned and smooth and generally well-cleansed, Andrew wandered around. I don't see enough of him, as his work shifts tend to clash with my free time, and vice versa. However, we sat and chatted and I informed him that he wasn't moving to London until I moved away first. Then Clare turned up, and their first introduction was Clare driving Andrew to his house. Lovely. They didn't kill each other, which is a good start.

So, in pre-Valentine's festivities, I made food (badly; it tasted good, but I made far too much pasta and far too little sauce) whilst Clare came armed with vodka (hail to the 10% discount card at ASDA!)and Velvet Goldmine. We started by watching that sober, and I do love that film. We discovered a plot, too! Wow! Then, whilst less sober, we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and then whilst absolutely and completely blind off-your-face-pissed I managed to get Clare to watch Prisoner of Azkaban.

She doesn't remember much, and neither do I, although she did occasionally wail "THAT'S NOT MY SIRIUS!" Poor fangirl.

Anyway, next morning I manage to break my 'never-been-sick-from-drink' rule. Which is weird, because I have drunk more with less food in me. But yes, that was not fun and left me feeling somewhat miserable all day.

So, Valentine's Day! Despite the hangover and general feeling of ARGH, it was good and started oddly. Apart from the vomiting, Mum decided she would come in to my room at nine and check if Clare was up. (Since Clare is Teh Insomniac and I am Teh Oversomniac.) We both were and Clare had, ironically, been reading until about three seconds before Mum came into the room just as I was waking up with a well-apreciated hug. Mum is rather suprisingly fine with this, shockingly, and she has been laughing and pointing at the fact I will be polo necks all week rather than the expected "not under my roof and that counts until you're SIXTY!" thing. Hmm.

This is the first Valentine's I've not been single on, and have recieved my first ever Valentine's card. Excluding [livejournal.com profile] kittyc1978's postcard, obviously. It's all very sweet and nice, and my hungover self went up a mountain in Wales (mistake. mistake) and went to see The Magic Roundabout.

We have now regained our status as the Lesbian Odd Couple. Thank you.

Now I am going to take a cup of tea and go to bed and listen to mushy music on RockFM as I am feeling rather fuzzy and cuddly right now. To bed for me. Sorry if this is all odd and weird.
