Bah!

Work work work work car work Harry Potter work music work work SANDWICH work insects.

That's a summing up of my life at the moment. The sandwich is fabulous, by the way; I never eat at work (there's something about cleaning toilets that puts me right off) but when I get home I'm practically chewing the steering wheel from hunger. Mmm. Chicken salad with an indulgent pack of full-fat crisps. I feel rebellious.

So tired this morning. Going to bed when one is alone in the house is a difficult task. Not for any 'alas, I am ALONE!' type reason, more because of the dog. My dog is a pain and has become used to my Dad's sleeping pattern. Dad spends most nights downstairs drinking lager, at which point he drops off on the couch and stays there until about 2am. The dog gets used to this and staggers off to his bed at 1am and stays there. Everyone is happy, because the dog sleeps through the night, my parents don't argue because no ones putting up with the snoring and it's all good. Except I wanted to go to bed at about 10.30! In the end, we compromised at 11.30 and he only barked once out of what night have been a test. As such, I was curled up in bed this morning cursing my alarm clock, and I ended up being late. Admittingly, the traffic was appalling - the roundabout was clogged up due to stupid parents taking their darling kiddis 100 yards down the road to primary school. I had to walk EVERY DAY. I remember this with no fondess. High school too. And I walked to the bus every day for college. I'd do the same for work was it not in the armpit of nowhere. Is there any need to drive to school? Primary schools are ALL OVER this country. Walk to one fucking nearer, lazy bastards.

Anyway, I tried a sneaky route off the roundabout rather than try and get the whole way across and picked the road with roadworks. In the end, it would have been quicker to go the original way. Also, mix tape failed - some of the songs just stopped in the middle. Bah!

I need to do some cleaning at home, actually; El Parento being off in the Lake District I'm responsible for all the cleaning, as well as walking the dog and the more depressing prospect of looking fter the veggies growing in the garden. Oiy.

I need some new trainers something desperate. All the linings gone on the back of the pair I have, which is backing the insect bites more itchy than you WOULD NOT BELIEVE. I tried going to Tescos on the way home from work and couldn't find any. Curses. I'll go properly shopping on my next payday. Which is in just under ten days.

I probably should get some food in, since I have the worst craving for crumpets at the moment. Mmm. Cumpets. I should try and save money instead, though. Since I owe Clare loads and I'm skint and all.

But tomorrow, there is a meet-up. I am very much looking forward to it, especially as my house is empty so there will actually be space.

D'you know, I've kept all my A-Level notes and I never honestly thought I'd be using AS-Level politics for Harry Potter fanfiction.

Jesus. Weird.

I blame [livejournal.com profile] aramley. Curse her, precious. Yes.

I have no Harry Potter icons. How strange.
