May. 19th, 2006 05:09 pmI have, um, 13 more lectures to revise, but that is okay, because, um, I just don't really care any more. Apathy is a dangerous, dangerous thing. Actually, I think I'll get through them, as my morning lectures are about two pages of very vague notes with some useful handouts containing things like dates, which was sadly missing from my last exam. I can do dates in medieval and themes in modern, but THERE IS NO CROSSOVER.
Anyway, I'm on my Permitted Break, so it's okay. Last night, I met Simon's friends, who are very nice human beings and did not eat me (although they are all sciency people so I felt slightly more innumerate than usual). We went, as a group, to see another friend in Much Ado About Nothing. I am very bad at Shakespeare, and know the plots of about five or six plays, but now I know the plot of this too! It was actually very good - well acted all around (although I find Americans completely jarring in Shakespeare when the rest of the cast is British) and made me laugh a lot. The guy playing the Constable wasreally quite pretty very good, too.
And then I had weird nightmares about Cybermen and even worse, Jack Straw coming on to me. My subconscious is a scary thing.
So yes! I have done stuff that is intellectual while I'm here! I feel almost proud of myself, really. And I've worked out how to poke the computer into playing music and discovered 'Absolution' hiding on iTunes, which is the album I've been listening through all of revision, so this is a positive thing too. I will never, ever get bored of any Muse albums. Like, ever.
Harrumph, this post is meaningless. The general conclusion is that I Am Still Not Dead, I have revised all of my Russian Lot books (well, I've read them and the notes in the margin so that is the same thing, yes) and all of the Gesta Francorum and I have only to get through, um, Iberia, Sicily Under Norman Control, Fourth-Seventh Crusade and all of Joinville's Life of St Louis and also I have to learn some Russian history but we will ignore that for now.
I am irresponsible, but there we are. Such is life. I do not care because to be honest it is nice just lying around a bit avec Simon and I'm not too worried about my marks in either of these subjects.
