(no subject)
Sep. 29th, 2008 05:29 pmSo, today is the first day of being a proper student in senior honours. After spending yesterday howling at thousands of people about the merits of being in DocSoc - over the thumping bass of RaveSoc for seven hours - I got a nice early night, with the intention of getting up at nine or so to work on my dissertation.
At, er, quarter to twelve, I hauled myself out of bed. Whoops.
Anyway, I basically feel like crap. Despite being An Old Fart, I have freshers flu. I find this unfair, as am not fresher, but it does explain why I slept for twelve hours last night and why it's cold.
Anyway. I've bought the rest of my uniform for work today and I've ever managed to get through some of my dissertation reading. I have a quite busy few days ahead of me, actually. Tomorrow I have work, then a meeting with my tutor for my special subject at four, and then I will launch myself at the car in order to be at Edinburgh in time for the Amanda Palmer gig.
As the observant might notice, this means I will be going to be meet my tutor for the first time in full gig-going gear. I hope he appreciates my Cool And Trendy coloured tights-skirt-t-shirt combo. He's probably seen worse. At least I'll be clean.
Anyway. After returning to St Andrews at a very early time in the morning, I will get up about two hours later and go to my one and only weekly class. Then it'll be a case of coming home, back to bed, get up, have washing machine fixed - I am wearing increasingly odd clothing combinations - and then go to DocSoc.
Oh, and in between all this I'm going to blast through a lot of dissertation research. I've done... quite a bit, I realise, and terror got me through a lot today, but I have to have quite a bit to show my tutor on Thursday. I am going to tell him, in detail, exactly how bad my summer was, and then I'm going to cry. I feel bad doing this, but, well, my summer was shite, and if it had happened during term-time then there's a mild chance I might have had to defer that semester. So quite frankly the fact I got any done at all is impressive, and I've done maybe two-thirds of what I (think) I'll need to have done?
Now I'm going to go and make my tea. I am meant to go to an AltSoc thing tonight, but quite frankly I need a night off. There's no way I'm missing out on Amanda Palmer or DocSoc, and something has to go...
