Feb. 11th, 2013 08:14 pmToday the Pope has resigned, in what is probably the most unexpected news story of the last 600 years. (And to be fair, in 1415 they were probably expecting it.) It says a lot about my new job that we speculated how he exit interview would go. We reckon he was annoyed at always having to cover the Christmas shift.
In things that affect me more (and as I cheerfully tell people, I got married in a Protestant church which is probably my final nail in the coffin as far as the Vatican is confirmed) I spent this weekend at
stupidore's house and finally met Maisie - yay!
Normal people would go down on a Friday night, but due to tricky trains I went down on the Saturday instead. I spent the Friday night at a brief work thing, where I drank too much free wine and my manager now thinks I'm psychic (long story) and then stumbled merrily home. So it was, shall we say, a difficult early Saturday morning. However, it was a lovely albeit short visit in Edinburgh. Maisie is really astonishingly cute, and for the first time ever a baby has not immediately started crying upon my cackhanded attempts at a cuddle. I even stopped her crying at one point, although she did then throw up on my jeans. Looking after babies = hard work and not for me as a long term thing but yay for other people having cute children that I can give back!
Now it's a Monday again and I think this week will be a struggle. I'm working desperately hard ( some weight loss discussion )
Now I am catching up on Being Human. I have an overwhelming urge for fanfiction in a way that literally no one else would think of, or understand, but still.
