Mar. 19th, 2014 04:53 pmShockingly, Richie and I have been married for over two years. Two years!! What the fuck is up with that HOW AM I SO OLD HOW HOW. I actually noticed the other day that I am developing wrinkles on my forehead, the fact I have those and still have acne feels like someone is taking the cosmic piss out of me.
That said. It's been a good couple of days. I've been off work since Friday, and I spent the evening with Fiona and Richie and some rather good tapas. I've given up alcohol for Lent (with the exceptions of: other people's wedding, our wedding anniversary more on which anon, and Richie's mother coming to stay because there are certain things I just can't face sober) so spent the evening enjoying lemonade and lime. Alas. Still, it will hopefully save some money which is basically the whole reason I've picked on this one for this particular Lent.
I spent a lot of Saturday and Sunday simply sitting outside, with a book, in the blazing sunshine. No complaints here. Our downstairs neighbour seems to have disappeared, so I don't feel so odd sitting in the shared garden! Monday was our actual anniversary, and we had booked a GroupOn deal in Cheltenham. As you do. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as warm, but we drove through the countryside and got there with good time, and spent the afternoon drinking and watching the sun go down. We had dinner in the hotel that night and mostly gossiped about the other diners before eating the worlds best dessert. Salted caramel ice cream, yum!
We spent Tuesday on a bit of an adventure, going to see Gloucester (not so good) and Cheltenham (much nicer). Unfortunately, the weather was hellishly blustery so we came home and spent the evening drinking the leftover champagne from Christmas, with leftover lasagne and Thor 2. Well, why not?
I have today off work as well, which is why I'm typing this and watching Fringe. I've caught up on a lot of my chores, including mangling some dresses from the sample sale at Richie's work to actually fit me, so I have some nice new clothes to wear which is always a good feeling. I'm going to try and fit in some more writing, too - I have fanfiction on the brain for the first time in a long time. I have some good plans for the future, as well - I want to learn how to knit. I'm not very creative and I doubt that I'll be able to make anything too awesome, but it would be a nice skill to have.
I'm feeling positive. It's nice, basically.
