Gyah.

Yes, kiddies, I'm back. I'm very, very tired, and part of me really can't be bothered yet but since I have the best part of two hours to waste, here is What I Did On My Holidays, or How Colin Cunningham And Suanne Braun Are My New Best Friends.

Friday- Hiho, hiho, it's down the M6 we go...

The morning was quite enjoyable. Sprang out of bed at 6.50, so as to pack, like, everything. I'm never really prepared. I went to college, and actually can't remember what we did in politics, althouh I did get a B in the test, so that was nice. Then I went to the 10% meeting, which was... odd. Fun, though. Lots of prats hanging about outside, but there you go. I agreed to make cakes for AIDS day, which again may have been a mistake. However, Luiz also agreed to do this, so we can ruin cakes together. Have a meeting for it today. Wibble.

Dad picked me up (on time, too! Wow!) and gave me a long list detailing junctions and motorways that we had to take. This was slighlty pointless. Traffic was hellish, and we were being stalked by a Mornflake Oats lorry, too. 5 hours after we set off, made it to the hotel at 4.00, checked in and promptly abandoned Dad to get in the queue for registration and photos goodness for the autographs. The new logging in thing was fun- Homebase training came in handy, in that I know how to manipulate barcodes for quicker scanining. (Don't just hold it, you want to swipe and swish). Got photo ID, too- nu,ber 25 with the loooovely Suanne Braun.

Met Camilla (her hair in so cool) and Nicka, and Sarah beforeI went upstairs and met [livejournal.com profile] osiris13 amd [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten. After a few hours, off we trundled (in my high heels, the pain) to the cocktail party, in which I learnt that I have Random Fandom Tourettes Syndrome (RFTS). Really. Blurted out to Teryl Rothery "Oh, you're so beautiful!" (which earned me a kiss, so not too bad) and told Musetta Vander "Oh, you're so lovely!" How insane do I look?

But then I met The Beautiful One. Your Queen. Technically, me. Yes, Suanne Braun AKA Hathor. The whole table already knew about my obsessive fangirlishness, and as such, pointed her towards me, in which time my RFTS re-emerged, prompting me to gush "Oh, I'm your biggest fan!" However, she loved my little Hathor badge and she's just... oh. Wow. I love her. I really do.

And then we went out to the party, for which we were DEATH, Famine (Ended up with a badge reading: "Hi! My name is FAMINE (Dr Sable, Biker)") and a War who didn't want to be War. Ah well.

Problem: DEATH forgot her scythe. Eeek! [livejournal.com profile] loveraven was NOT amused, and her journal entries say the same. Even without the scythe, Clare looked very good though, and we even managed to find a Pollution by basically nabbing Sarah and putting debris around her. The night was a whole was fun, although they played no good music. Alas! So I went to bed.

Saturday- Stargating across the universe, boldly going forwards because Stargates can't reverse!.

Next morning, I managed to swipe myself a seat at the front, which rocked. My camera died a death (not that kind) so I borrowed Em's, which I thought had a film in it. Ha! Did it heck. All my photos, wasted. *wails* But lovely Em was very nice, and is gonna get me a copy of her film. Yay!

So, the talks. First up was Suanna Braun, who plays Hathor, Musetta Vander who plays Sho'Nauk and was also in Buffy, Xena and Voyager, and Frida Bertrani, who plays Lya the Nox. They were very funny, and Suanne was given glitter. Yes, glitter. I just wanted [livejournal.com profile] loneraven to be there, since she would have got the glitter jokes. (There will be a full write up of the talks on my website- I have notes.)

Next, Amexis Cruz, Skaara himself. He was a little... well... dull is the wrong word. He wasn't as interesting as the others, in that he wasn't as funny, but he is a big RPGer. That was amusing.

Colin Cunnigham is so funny. And mental. And sweet to his dog. SOmeone asked him how he felt about a romance between him and other characters, and he suggested Sam. I say with a certain matter of pride that I was the one who belted out: "DANIEL!" to which he laughed at.

Don S Davis is such a gentlemen, and highly amsuing. And anti-Bush. I got some of the best quotes out of him, including:

"If I give me word to someone, I keep it."
"Teryl has the worlds smallest bladder..."
"But she is a woman! She was born with bumps!"
"Teal'c has this really big staff... and he has this big weapon thing too!"

Carmen Argenziano was obviously terrified by the crowd, but he was quite good, including tales of nancing through the Stargate, and how S/J wouldn't work but Sam/Dan WOULD. He's also a little like Ian Mackellen- seduces everyone in his sight.

And Teryl... what can I say? Oh, she's so lovely I can't describe. Short, bouncy and incredibly charismatic, she did a cracking Gollum impression among other things.

Got a photo with Suanne, where she remembered me and my badge! And for the autographs, she wrote "To Colleen, thank you so much for the support..."

The fancy dress was good, although I haven't got time to write everything. COlin Cunningham gave the best quote of the whole night: "Whatever happens in the judging tonight... everybody sucked!"

Sunday- The Road Goes Ever On And On And On And On...

Sunday was my personal favourite day, although I was fairly knackered. Front row! Huzzah! By this point, I couldn't actually walk since my thighs literally burnt everytime I tried to walk.

Teryl again was lovely, and rabbited on about Patrick Stewart, and how she Mary-Sued as a young girl. (Didn't call it that, obviously.) And also about how in an outake, she straddled Siler... bizarre.

Colin was very, very insane. He ran around a lot, gave a girl a piggyback and played black magic with the crowd and looked an awful lot like a pirate. But thats RFTS again.

Frida Bertrani was highly entertaining. She asked if anyone liked The Thrills, and I was the only one to throw my hand up again. We also talked about men, in which I bitched about Liverpool blokes.

"But didn't the Beatles come from there?"
"But what since?!"

She also danced with some bloke, to the Darkness. *giggles.

Suanne wants to play Queenie in Blackadder II! God, that'd work. She's also recording an album, since she actually has a beautiful singing voice. *huggles Suanne*

Alexis was much more interesting this time around, and grew truly passionate about the things he loves. Much funnier as well-

(When talking about non-fans) "You fools! You're all so boring!"

Carmen and Don came on together, looking very similiar. They're evidently good friends, and worked well together on stage.

And then suddenly, it was over, and I didn't want it to be. Why had the time flown so fast?

Then came the best bit of the whole con, for me at least. They were auctioning off a poster, which I really, really wanted. I don't know why, I just did. And I had money to spend. So, I started to bid against this other person. Suanna, Colin and Frida were doing the auction, and as I bidded, Frida ran up to me, looked at me and went "Hey! You've not moved!" She remembered me!

The auction wore on, and got to £45, which I couldn't go much higher than, so I bidded "£48!"

Colin looked at me, so I shouted "I really, really want this poster!"

The other bidder went up to £50, and the woman across the row from me leaned over and gave me £5, at the same time as Suanne went "Hey! You're my fan, aren't you!"

Hysteria. She remembered me!

Bidding continued past my range, so COlin Cunnigham ran down from stage and handed me £20. Dude, I'm in shock. And I got the poster!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I am Colin Cunnigham's new fan. Truly.

Then it was the closing ceremony, and Don gave me a lovely quote:

"It's every North American actors dream to come to London and act in a West End play. When I get back, I'm going to tell tham all that the best thing is to be on stage in front of Stargate fans!"

And then I had to leave, which I didn't want to, but I had to. Alas. We were stuck in traffic FOREVER, and didn't get back until late. And now I'm here. And I want to go back and have another convention. *cries*

{reads further down}

Heee! I remember you :) {bounces}

Suanne and Teryl were fantastic. I'd met Suanne at Expo a couple of weeks previously, so she recognised me and [livejournal.com profile] laurajo (although the amount of times we hassled her, it was hard for her not to!!)
