I've had a somewhat amusing day. It didn't go to plan, but it was actually fairly interesting. Woohoo!

I had no lessons all morning. After all, I had the morning off anyway; Claudine is in New York, so no Media; and English was devoted to the idiots who still haven't finished their coursework. Now would be the time for an irate rant on why on earth people come to college and mess up my lessons, but since it gave me an excuse not to go, I could hardly complain.

I knew this yesterday, and spent an evening agonising over whether to go in. Eventually, I decided to head in and spend the morning writing that historical!RPS fic that [livejournal.com profile] mettanna bullied me into.

Or not. I woke up at 7.20 since I turned the alarm off to quickly and I decided that, actually, I wouldn't go in just yet. Shouted through the door to let me sleep, and sleep I did. Until 10.00. Felt absolutely bloody wonderful, but then I had the curious question of how actually to get into college. I vaguely remembered the 395 going past, and I quote, 'Orrell Post' so I decided to get the bus. After all, there's a Post Office just down the road from college!

I'm an idiot. Orrell Post in, in fact, the crossroad. Aforementioned crossroad is 30 minutes away from college. So, I donned my headphones and started walking.

It was a most perilous quest. I battled bravely the Crossing Of Doom, using my cunning and my wits. I almost lost my trusty backpack, and a foul beast of Citroen attempted to eat me. I escaped, however! Raising my pack proudly on my back I strode across the plains of Housing Estates, following a faint memory of trips with my most noble parents. No living thing stirred, and the stones and trees sang most sadly of them. I then continued my quest across the terrifying Bridge Over The Motorway, before finally reaching the Last Homely Chip Shop Of The West. There I knew I was coming to the end of my quest, and it was true, for I saw the fair Lady [livejournal.com profile] flickerswitch. My quest was complete. I was in college for lunch.

And I'm going to stop writing like that because it's driving me nuts. Tolkien I am not. (Alas!)

That was my morning. Actually, it wasn't a bad walk. I had a CD player, I've just rediscovered Konstantine, and I listened to it on repeat for the walk. It was warm, too, although I didn't actually have a coat and the grey clouds were turning up...

So, yes. We got a new film that wasn't French, although equally incomprehensible, and then it was history, which I'm glad I didn't miss, actually. He actually taught us something again! Yay! Missed that.

In a slightly more scary moment, Elaine barged in at the beginning of history and charged over to my seat. Leaned away in instinctive fear.

"Colleen! Help! We need people for tomorrow!"
*stare* "..."
"For the interviews!"

Ah, yes. A wonderful innovation of PLS department, this. The idea is simple - they interview people for the job of Brand New Law And Politics Teacher (since they're hopelessly over-subscribed and under-staffed) and then they teach a small sample of us and we give feedback. I wasn't originally selected for the interviews, and neither was any of other GOPS (Gobby Opiniated Politics Students). And that was fine.

"Don't you have any other people?"
"No! They've all pulled out, so we've gone for the intelligent students now instead."

Stroke my intellectual ego and I'll do anything.

"Okay, what time do you want me there?"
"9.15, B3!" She then swanned out.

At this point, I didn't actually know what I was in for. Om the plus side, it's revision, I hope.

So, I have to go and miss my morning for politics interviews. I will miss English and Key Skills. Oh Dear.

(Jesus H. Christ! Just finished the 23rd chapter of Stealing Harry and nearly had heart failure. Well-written April Fool - so cruel! And back to the diary.)

I feel that Judith will throw a hard drive at me for sciving key skills on Coursework Deadline Day but I've prepped the parents for a potential letter home. And there isn't a teacher in that college who won't take my side. It's all good. Besides, I've done my coursework. I'll just have to duck the flying hardware!

That's all for now. Off to bed, I think.

What's Jesus's middle name?
Just in case it comes up on a pub quiz, or something...

*sticks out tongue*

Hach. Like Homer J Simpson, who's middle name is Jay...

Oh, I need to go to bed. I'm convinced it's Friday even though I know it's not...

I feel as though it's Friday too.
Weird, that.
But I should go to bed, too.
Nah, that would be the sensible thing to do...

Love Konstantine.

And you're more Tolkienesque than you think. I was waiting for a dragon in a mini Cooper to show up.

You've been looking at my plans for future fic, haven't you? *grins* I love writing in the Tolkienesque way, and me and a mate quite often have coversations in it. It's quite a compliment, though...

Konstantine does indeed rock. I'm going to put it on again now...
