Just had the hellish General Studies exam in which I ranted at length about the nature of equality, why civil servants at Whitehall frankly have better things to worry about than a Britney Spears poster ("Indeed, if the televsion program Yes Minister is to be believed, then civil servants are those in charge of the country. It is distressing to think that they are primarily concerned with posters of pop stars") and basically swearing a lot in my head at the builders. ("SHUT UP! SHUT UP! BUILD SOMEWHERE ELSE, WANKERS!") Yawn, much?
Spent a long time this morning at the Water Park. Now, I like to consider myself an essentially good person, and like all Britons I quite like looking after animals. I like ducks, too. I think they're really cool and quite cute. And there are many ducks - and ducklings - who live in the lakes in this place. There's also a weird system of locke type things btween the lakes. We - that is, me,
flickerswitch and
jezzabellbob - were in the process of walking past and there was five ducklings, stuck! They couldn't jump up the sheer wall, or fly away, or anything!
Watched them for a little while. Grew to panic slightly more. Phoned 118118 and got the number for the RSPCA, phoned, and hopefully got it all sorted. We hung around for quite a while, but it got to the point where we needed to go back and get something to eat before we did the exam. Asked a nice fisherman to keep an eye on my babbies (Dudley term picked up from my mother there) and left them waiting for the RSPCA man.
I hope that he's turned up. Jess is going to check for me tomorrow. Want to know if they're okay. I really do feel quite maternal over the little critters, especially since their Mum has scarpered.
As Jess said "Why don't you just join the Green Party and be done with it?"
