So, we survived this weekend. THANK GOD FOR THAT.

Friday was a very nervous drive up to St Andrews, with terrifying fear that the traffic would all go wrong again and we would be stranded on the M6 and I would never get to lift the fear from my heart about planning my wedding and ALL WOULD BE WRONG UNTO ETERNITY. Luckily, this did not happen and we rocked up to St Andrews surprisingly early, meeting up with Lucy for a few hours before heading over to the Quad, nosying around St Salvators which I am getting married in but hadn't really seen before, and Lower and College Upper Hall where we're having the reception and no, we hadn't seen half of it before we booked it. Luckily this was absolutely the correct decision, as all of them are beautiful. HURRAH. Some of our questions were answered about the venues, and that was all good indeed.

We then had intentions about getting lots of things done, but instead bumped into my old housemate Sarah in the street. I haven't seen Sarah since I graduated, and I really miss her but we've fallen out of touch, really. We squealed at each other, hugged, and caught up on news. It was a lovely, lovely twenty minutes.

After that it was a very quick whistlestop tour to the chaplaincy ("Do you know who's the Chaplain now?") and then we met out photographer, who is a frighteningly lovely woman and she agrees with me that I am right to be leery of getting photographs taken when I'm getting ready. Thank goodness for that!

We spent the rest of the day with friends, giving out some invitations (the rest will be in the post, eventually!) and eventually going for a meal in the evening. I slept on an airbed on the floor of Richie's friend, and dreamt I was on an pirate ship all evening.

Unfortunately, we were thrown out of the flat very early in the morning due to flight times for aforesaid friend, so we wandered the streets of St Andrews shockingly early in the morning, waiting for somewhere - anywhere! - to open so we could have some much needed caffiene. Still, the weather was beautiful! We managed to get some florists quotes and I booked my hair appointment YES I AM THAT VAIN.

With an awful lot of weight off my mind, we headed to Glasgow for The Great In-Law Meet-Up Of 2011. So, you know, not that much weight.

We were staying in the Premier Inn, which was lovely when I curled up for an afternoon nap and was a bad future daughter in law, preferring sleep. I prefer sleep as a general thing, to be honest! The bed was ever so comfy, though.

Anyway. Eventually I was hauled out of bed, and the Meeting O' Doom happened. Actually, it was okay. We should have realised that, to be honest. Everyone was on best behaviour, but everyone got on. Even better, the restaurant I booked was AWESOME. I had paneer saag. I bastarding love paneer. I also had too much wine, which is retrospect may have been a mistake as I was horribly hungover the next day. Oh well.

So that's all finished now, for which I am ever so pleased. I have found myself genuinely relaxing. Bridesmaid dresses have now all finally turned up (LADIES: I will send them in recorded delivery v. soon) so I feel that I have ticked off an awful lot of the difficult list. We actually went through the list last night and we pleased to see how much of it has gone away now. We've also been through our budget, and although I will still be spending a lot of the next five months minus buggar all money, we at least will have the wedding entirely paid off without going into any debt, and maybe even a little left over for some last minute flourishes. WAHEY.

So there's that done. Bridezilla can hibernate a little until after Christmas. Only a little, mind you.
