OHMYGODSQUEE.

I have had a good few days, really. Friday was a good day. I woke up early with a vague idea to finish my essay. I didn't. Instead I slept longer than I should have done, woke up, showered, wandered around aimlessly and went out to meet Clare. Had a fabulous day. The original plan of action was to kidnap people, as everyone seemed rather down. Well, [livejournal.com profile] loneraven was on the way to Stratford, [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow was in Greece (although she'll feature later) [livejournal.com profile] balthaser was being eaten by spreadsheets and [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten was at work.

Well, hmph.

So, in the theme of mad quests, we went to try and buy a fish, so that Elvis would have a friend when Clare left for university. Somewhere along the lines, we decided to go to Wales instead, singing along to I'll Never Tell and other songs on the way to Conwy. Y'know, as you do. Then we went back, got slightly lost, but made it back before curling up and watching the wonderfully gratutitously violent Kill Bill. It says a lot that Clare was complaining at the lack of scientific accuracy and I was just impressed at how they dodged the censors.

"Look! They've changed the colour of the blood! Silhouette! Cartoons! Humour and context! This is so clever!"
"She was shot though the head. How does that work?"

That's a difference in academia, people.

We went home via Emily's to generally hug her, check she was okay and threaten to beat her Significant Other with shovels (me) and and frying pans (Clare). We don't have to, as it turns out, but the offer is always open. We also got rather amusing messages from Hannah via Philippa whilst Clare panicked and went a rather attractive shade of red. Ah, fun.

Alas, I had to go home, and I did so with a heavy heart and again no homework finished. So I finished my media essay. Which, by the way, is in for Tuesday. Have I done my English in for Monday? Have I buggary.

So, I woke up too late on Saturday and ran around like a maniac in a desperate attempt to try and get ready. I had a phonecall from Natalie while I was out on Friday telling me that I had to be in Leigh for six. Oh dear. So, I had all my stuff in work and I was ready to roll. I actually made it to Wigan early to the surprise of Natalie. Went and dropped my stuff off at her house and meandered around again to Leigh. Due to the popularity of Keane, we were doing one of the horrible, overpriced coach thingies, so we had to get a coach. It was while we were on aforementioned coach that we realised it went from Ormskirk after all. *facepalm* Oh, and that there was someone who lives down my road on the coach. *bigger facepalm*

We got there rather early, queued, as you do, and popped in. I wasn't expecting to be standing. OH MY GOD! We ended up about three people from the front, although the two people were about seven foot tall and built like brick shithouses. I have a very strained neck now, but I don't care. I'm not sure who the support bands were - they were good, but, well, they didn't introduce themselves so never mind.

I genuinely can't remember everything they played - they played the entire album to the best of my knowledge and three new tracks, which are amazing - but some moments are completely standout. They started with Can't Stop Now, which I adore and so did the rest of the audience. Lots of gentle bouncing, and OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO GOOD. They were all rather bouncy, and Tom Chaplin is like a tall Hobbit, whilst Tim Rece-Oxley (for those that don't know, Iona's biology teacher's nephew) played piano like it was the last thing he'd ever do, and I couldn't see the drummer as he was behind the Brick Shithouse In The Red T-Shirt. But oh oh oh. They played the crowd completely, and he's very clever at getting everyone involved. I could have sworn he looked at me (I'm telling you, Tom made eye contact) although I'm sure I'm imagining it. But wow! The complete and utter best moments, for me, were 'Somewhere Only We Know' because I adore the song and I just didn't want it to end. It's one of my favourite songs, and they were there, and they were live, and I was there and I nearly died. I cried at Bedshaped. *facepalm* But it was so beautiful that I don't really mind.

And then I went home. Well, to Nat's house. We bought cheap knockoff hoodies first - mine is burgandy and clashes with my hair, but I have a feeling I'm not going to take it off all week - and then back we went. We were stuck in Leigh for a little bit with scary dressed up people. The evil clwon truly freaked me out. There was also a very good DEATH, who walked towards me with one fingers pointed at me. I giggled, asked him where Famine, Pestilence and War were. He looked quite impressed through the mask before delcaring he couldn't see and he went back to the pub. Nat looked confused as I made Discworld jokes, and looked much more scared when I declared I was, technically, DEATH'S girlfriend. This is entirely true in a roundabout sort of way. I got a lift back to Ormskirk this morning too, so I've had time to do my history essay. English? Bah! Bah, I say!

I'm rather bouncy still. Clare is coming around to watch Van Helsing (her idea not mine I swear), so I really should go and clean, and phone my driving instructor. Ah well.

Keanekeanekeanekeanesogood.

/fangirl. Well, probably. Now for an evening of cheesy, cheesy film with loffly Clare and lofflt Dracula.

Happy Halloween to all! Forgot it was that night. How appropriate!
