If there is at least one person in your life who you consider a close friend, and who you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.

I can't move for people I met in fandom. I have just realised that all my best friends, more or less, are fandom related. Heh. Fabby.

In this note, I present some fairly entertaining photos of me in the drunken state. All at work safe, although the last one... well, you may end up giggling so hard that you fall off your chair. In my defence, I was extraordinarily drunk, it was 2.30am, we had just been for a wander down the road and I was without make-up or my sense of trying to conceal less attractive aspects of self. (Clare, will e-mail you these if you want.)

Residents Together

This is all of us together; from left to right, it's Enid ([livejournal.com profile] balthaser who took the photos) and Emily [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten), Hannah [livejournal.com profile] loneraven in the middle, Iona's ([livejournal.com profile] loneraven) face, Clare ([livejournal.com profile] osiris13) (with her traditional scary red eyes) and me sprawled. I have no socks as I split orange juice on them.

Clare and I

I like this photo. No scary double chin of my half; no scary photo red-eye on Clares. We look sufficently pissed and cuddly. Also, Clare's hair is out and I really like it like that.

Erm...

I need say nothing. Erm, I was drunk. Really and truly and spectacularly. I also look like I have a scary big nose. And I also look like the poster child for teenage alcoholism, which frankly is the reason I still have murder getting served. Enid looks quite nice and sober. Alas and unfair.

So, I woke up this morning rather reluctantly. I was still knackered and worse, I had to go to training and confess that the new equipment was in college. Ah. This would explain why, when I got there, Dan threatened me with a drill as he was busily making emergency shields. Bah. I am a bad person.

However, training was rather enjoyable. I have n00bs! They go by the names of Claire, Gav and Rich. One day, I will refer to them correctly, as names confuse me. It was also bloody freezing, which was a downside - ended up hopping around the field and shivering between being fearsomefighter!Colleen. Failed in this aspect, I feel, but did get some subtle tactics training. I like this. Meant we lasted for at least three minutes in the Gryphon versus Phoenix melee, which was unfair to say the least. Being the first time I had led my warband, I decided a speech was in order.

"We may be outnumbered! We may be poorly trained! We may be about to die in a loud and impressive way! But godammit, we're really cool! ROB STOP TRYING TO RUN AWAY YOU PONCE!"

Voice still sore from generic shouting, but it was fun anyway. Came home in the freezing cold but somehow happy. I have inherited Rob's old knyghte coat, which more or less touches the floor on me, and it's been duly washed and ironed and is so longer covered in cat hair and mud. (How, Rob? How?) Also bunged the rest of the tabbards in there for when we sew on lil' Phoenixes - I'm not having the black run on to the blue. It's been observed that our colour scheme is actually rather tasteful and nice. Especially when compared to, say, red and yellow...

And now I am at home. I'm panicking just a ltitle bit at the amount of work I need to do. History do research, politics to revise. Have a free period tomorrow, so will do it then. If I can find the actual politics I'm revising. May steal it off Jess. Argh. Bad student.
