Nov. 29th, 2004 05:22 pmThe skies are so incredible in this cold. Despite the fact I'm constantly freezing - unusual for me - and my skin is chapped and it's generally chilly, the weather is beautiful. This morning the sky was a beautiful cacophony of pinks and golds and blues, and the park sparkled with frost.
All of this almost made up for the fact that I could barely get out of bed today. It was cold. I hurt. I wanted to sleep more. I eventually dragged myself out of bed on the basis that I had to, and that the fact I hadn't done my work was my problem. Good thing I went into college, actually, as on the bus to Skem I spotted Javelin at the War Memorial. He hopped on the bus and we tried to get it to stay until Simon and Enid turned up. Yes, once again my college was being invaded and twas fun! Despite the fact that I had done very little homework and I had a politics timed essay today, I managed to doa little revision and stashed the essay plan in my folder. I have officially cheated. No doubt Elaine knows, and I'll get the requisite bollocking, just in time for progress interviews. Gah. Nevertheless, is done.
It was good to see those three again, all of a day after seeing them. The day was long, however. We managed to get some training done with the entertainingly violent Matt, even if my two n00bs from last week didn't turn up. I did - eventually - get an apology, though.
Afternoon off, though, so I ate an egg custard which was quite nice and tried to do some history. Then I realised that it was time to go home... so I did. On the bus. Enid lay all over me, as she had been in the pub and drank far too much. I kid you not when I tell you she was really rather drunk. Nice change to be drunksitting again.
And now I am at home, and feelign gradually more ill. I'm stiffening up and my joints are achey. The space behind my eyes hurts. This is not a sign of me going nuts, it's my body's way of saying 'Hello virus!'. Worse, though, I have the ultimate sign of imending illness - scratchy thorat. I don't care if I'm being pathetic, this is not a good thing, and is what comes of training in the freezing cold two days on the run without a decent coat on.
I would skive tomorrow, but dammit, my work ethic has come back...
Blah. Off I go.
