*is dead from the tired*

So, yesterday was the last day of 2004. I managed to finish my essay - thank the lord - and now, in the same way I was last year after New Years, groggy, fuzzy and very much wishing to go to sleep.

It's 6.29pm at this exact moment. I am a crap student.

So, after my last post of the last year, I went and got ready to go to [livejournal.com profile] lilka's New Years bash. Acquired self of eyeliner and everything, and Clare and Hannah turned up just as I was ready - alas, with a plastic bag full of Homebase uniform. I was under orders to not navigate. At all. Not even to try. Even my own mother gave the advice of "Gag her, lock her iin the boot and kick her before you let her navigate."

Well, ha, I say. We were quite good actually getting to Crosby, which is roughly the location of Jane's house, as we merrily sang (ish) to 'The Phantom Of The Opera' soundtrack and Hannah provided the dialogue. This was all really rather nice, but then it went a bit wrong. We had no idea where the house we were aiming for actually WAS. So, we tried to look at a map, but that didn't work. We tried to pull up in a sideroad, but it was THE SIDEROAD OF DOOM WITH NO ROOM in which we had to reverse of of. The entire way. It was scary and not good for all concerned.

We then tried to just aim forwards, and then we saw a road sign for where we were heading!

Then Iona phoned, and we wibbled at her as we were lost. In the end, we asked a passing dogwalker. He looked scared but we found it! Hurrah!

Jane's consisted of surprisingly little I could drink, since I don't like coke. Or rum. I have realised that I am completely addicted to hard spirits when I'm drinking, and you know that is not really a good thing. So, I drank alcopops. Good gref I thought, and didn't feel a thing for something like two hours. Round about 11, I started to nearly fall over and it stayed like that ALL NIGHT. Jesus, what are these kids drinking these days? I was off alcopops by the age of 16 and it's such a shock to realise that they're stronger than I thought.

Bloody hellfire, etc.

Oh, and I met [livejournal.com profile] emerald_embers! I've heard lots about her and finally I have met her. She is lovely.

Until the alcohol kicked in, though, I was just rather happy due to the small amount of rum and coke consumed. I don't like rum. Have I mentioned that? We were all in the kitchen and I resolved to take notes of all the side-splittingly silly things we were all saying, but I can't remember then.

Maybe I drank more than I think...

So, we played spin the bottle, and my god, but Jane has a fantastic life. Hannah summed it up best:

"I want your life!"

We also tried - rather unsuccessfully - to continue the Quest of Hannah/Iona. It's practically TRUE but it seems to have stalled. Alas.

So, the evening continued. Lots of fangirly chat took place, which is always a bonus, as well as the knowledge that I actually SAY 'omg' out loud, roughly along the lines of "ohmuhguh..." and we all said 'teh' and didn't realise it. Suddenly it was midnight! We all ran outside and much midnight kissing took place - that's something I've never done before, and it was lovely. We then sang Auld Lang Syne, but I don't know the words. Maybe I should do that for next year. I tried to take notes for te next Colleen Show fanfic, but it didn't work. Lots of side-splitting stuff happened, but I can't remember it...

The evening continued with a trace of sadness - alas, Iona is dying of a viral infection and couldn't stay the night - and the depressing knowledge that I really did need to find a corner to curl up in. Eventually, Hannah, Clare and I all found the appropriate corner, and Hannah took the blankets and Clare and I shared body heat. Was still a cold night, however, so it took me a while to fall asleep - I suspect that Hannah was asleep first. Hope she was, actually, as I do feel guilty. For dragging her out early and whatnot.

We woke up DISGUSTINGLY early. People are noisy and seemed to be talking outside of the room we had comandeered and I swore quite a lot before reluctantly waking up after killing some... thing that was beeping. Bah. I was already awake by that point, though. We pulled Hannah awake a little while later (and she glared at us through falling hair, looking like a Western blonde, short haired version of Sakado (spl?) from The Ring), and then we groggily stumbled outside, stepping over people who I suspect just fell over and slept where they passed out, and then we were off. We didn't even get very lost, and I was at work EARLY. As such, we got MacDonalds DruveThru. Yum. First meal of 2005 - Bagel. OR at least part of so, since I had to go and get changed so I donated it to Hannah.

Work was appalling. Alex and I were on the same shift and we slumped in pain for the entire thing, being knackered and the fact that there were NO CUSTOMERS AT ALL. Around about three o clock, we were given a box to raise money for Tsunami Relief. I am ashamed to admit that my motions weren't selfless - niothing gave me more joy that forcefully making skinflint, nasty cumtomers give up their change. My box was marvellously heavy after the end of the hour.

And now I am at home.

I may go to bed now. It's taken me an hour to write this. *facepalm*
