Feb. 2nd, 2005 09:21 pmPacking is now probably completed barring toiletries and shit. I have even done some ironing. I can use the camera. I think I'm Prepared, but I have the nagging feeling I'm taking too much. I really do have the barest minimum, and I'm under the baggage allowance by a stone or so, but hot damn, I really do need those jumpers.
Teh manic shopping spree is going to have to go and die somewhere, I think. Or maybe I could afford to lose some clothes, I suppose... or not. Oh dear.
This is all very confusing, I think.
Last lesson of the day was politics, and we started a new topic of political philosophy, and we're doing environmentalism in between the rest. I am a Green Socialist, apparently, and we had lots of fun discussing how the election party will consist of everyone in seperate rooms depending on party, and:
"Colleen, in a corner of the Labour party, with a green t-shirt, hugging a Yukka plant whilst humming "Arise, ye workers!" under her breath."
Oh dear. I do love my politics class and tutor, but as I was leaving, Elaine collared me.
"You! Cheetham! In the airport, no mentioning Communism or socialism. You are a true-blooded patriot, you like Bush and YOU ARE A CAPITALIST. You will ENJOY it."
It's like she knows me. With even Iona's Dad worriedly saying "She won't say anything in Washington, will she?" I think perhaps I should just keep quiet. For a bit.
That really is all from me until next week. Scary biscuits. I will have a fabby time, but I have to get up at 5am tomorrow. WAAH. Silly Manchester.
