Everyone so far seems to be doing fabulously well, results-wise.I am feeling faintly maternal of you all and I just want to pat you all on the heads. At any rate, Mum grilled me about media, then congratulated me, so it's all good. Speaking of media, I'm actually missing it tomorrow - I'm going to history careers oojy-whatsit at college, which is all very nice. Tomorrow, however, I shall go in, have the chat with Elaine about resits (No, really. We all have to. I sense that I will not be doing this) and then wandered around to history, do the dance of joy, wander to English and pretend that I'm really ill and apologise for missing a lesson today. Hurrah for good attendance. If she picks me up on it then I will hit the roof. I have taken precious little time off this year, barring a week in the US. So NYEH. Actually, the Gods of Irony have decided to visit me with the beginning of a monster headache and general bleurghyness, which is ironic but I will wander in tomorrow. According to
flickerswitch I have English gloating opportunities to take.
Which is nice. And I've just recieved a phone call off my Grandad, who is on holiday (RUNNING the holiday - he left the phone call with "Oooh heck, I've got to get back to bingo with a bunch of pensioners." It's nice to have a coach-driving Grandad) and yay me etc.
I am now looking at uni stuff again with growing worry. I'm not sure what loan I'm entitled too, but either way I suspect I'm going with bogstandard housing (self-catering, too - Aldi will be my friend) much as I would like one of the spiffy old-fashioned places. Alas, I cannot afford it, so I will be cheapy girl. At least I know I'm going to get in! I'm also looking at the specific courses. I do three other modules as well as my history course, so I'm debating to take two history courses (early modern and medieval? maybe?) and then throwing in sociology or politics. Cos, y'know, politics geek and I like the sociology aspects of it. Also contemplating classics, though, so we'll see.
And now, I have the weirdest urge to watch ROTK. If I put it on now I'll get through the first disc by 10.00...]
[ETA: I hav now purchased my Leavers Do dress after accidentally finding a pretty site (http://www.thedarkangel.com) and then going asurfing.
I wanted this dress because, y'know, OMGPRETTY. However, I also want a dress that I can re-use and recycle. I still want this dress, with all my soul. I do not, however, think I'd actually get up the nerve to wear it.
Next option was this dress but, well, see above. Also, issues were raised regarding soup as a starter dish.
So, I went for this dress. AND MY MOTHER PAID FOR IT as a sort of "Egads! You passed AGAIN!" type thing. I do like the dress, very much (even if I'm a bit iffy about the term "Alternative Prom dress") but I have to take a size 14. Silly bust size makes me look like an hourglass (seriously, hips and bust are the same width and there's about 8" less around my waist) and I am genuinely gutted. Size 14! NO! I am a size twelve! But yes. The dress is ordered. The dress is pretty. I rock and will look very... black on the night. Silver jewellery ahoy.]
