[ETA: this post was started last night, but I finished it this morning. An time oddness just put up with, kthxbai.]

The title is inspired by Channel 4's Musicality which I have just watched and teared up over because I do love musical theatre. Alas, I cannot sing and I do not live anywhere near where I could get to, y'know, Good Theatre. I'm seeing Phantom (again!) this summer, I've seen Grease, I've seen Starlight Express and I've seen Rocky Horror but THAT IS IT.

*aims to watch more musicals in lifetime. Also to dance again at uni*

I woke up this morning feeling very much of the knackered. It was Andrew's birthday last night, so me, [livejournal.com profile] katies_2k and Lorna went around to his and got sloshed. I do not learn from my mistakes, so we ended up playing 'I Never Did' and god I was drunk. As per bloody usual, admittingly, but it meant I staggered through the door at about 1.30am and then proceeded to have to be up for eight. As such, my first time at work for two weeks was downright painful, although people buying plungers was the FUNNIEST THING EVER. It was about the only thing keeping me sane awake.

Speaking of sanity, the GIP to this post amuses me too much. I want more Doctor Who icons and I also want to sit and listen to the music all day. I dare not for fear of people coming in and looking at my strangely. They are all so good and weird and fun. Although the later ones, McCoy et al, are fucked up, yo. I did watch my first bit of a Peter Davison episode this morningh and spent the whole thing thinking "Buggarit, I'm tired. Where's the caffeine?"

Work was appalling, as always. To begin with, did you know that the Dalek 'EXTERMINATE!' bit was made with a paint roller with no cover on? I KNOW THIS NOW. I am so proud of myself.

Anyway. This is so blethery and weird. I was really looking forward to this week, and Doctor Who was a good, solid episode.

I mean, it wasn't as good as Dalek, but I did enjoy it. There were some fantastic lines in it:

"That's your boyfriend."
"... is that just me?"
"I call him Max."

I do like the little throwaway lines that Russell T Davies throws in every so often.

I could feel the parents phoning in to complain about their little darlings. Admittingly, I could see where they came from, what with the dead bodies and the brain opening up. Yuck much?

I liked the shipperdom, obviously. Poor Adam didn't stand a chance, did he? They held hands and I nearly DIED. Seriously. Hand porn ahoy!

Speaking of Adam, he didn't get squashed under a TARDIS or taken for Simon Pegg's love slave, but not to worry. He had a suitable ending, and also showed how all people are not suitable for being companions. He served his purpose. Also, the ending of it was absolutely priceless!

I've also had an idea for a very quick drabble. Hmmm.

Simon Pegg! I loffle Simon Pegg, he makes me happy. So does Tamsin Grieg, so this was a good episode for me. Simon Pegg wasn't... well... evil enough, but he was effective. I could imagine him being the lackey to a Thingiemawhatsit. Although the Shaun of the Dead references JUST GROW.

Lots of satire on modern-day media, which again referenced Rupert Murdoch. "You know, threats. The usual stuff." That was so appropriate, and makes me sad for the future of the human race. I suspect that's just me, though.

Next week looks FUCKING FANTASTIC. My shipper side may actually explode with joy, you know that? Quite apart from all that, though, what about the idea of the guardians of time, or whatever they were? They seem to come to repair time and get rid of the anomoly, which would be interesting. I also like the idea of some good, deep angst for Rose. Will we able to do The Dance Of Backstory for her? That is the question.

I don't half love having a new fandom. I'm in full first flush, and it's to the point of organising a day with [livejournal.com profile] loneraven to watch Fourth Doctor episodes and then watch 'The End Of The World'. And probably 'Dalek' again becaise that episode doesn't stop being fun. There will be jellybabies and also Fiendish Plans for the next convention. She'd be Four, Clare would be Nine and I would probably end up being Three or maybe Two. If you understood that last statement, you can have a cookie. *pets*

I get paid next week. And I have my first Leaver's Do, in this case Clare's. My dress has had two inches taken off it and it's still too long. This cannot be good, but never mind. Also, my skin has gone into DefCon Three and resembles a belisha beacon. *hides behind new straightened emo hair*

Off to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with Clare tonight.I am making a point of ignoring my homework studiously because hell, I have seventeen days left to go. WHEEE.
