shoebox_project. My Saturday is complete.
So, that was fantastic. It was the first episode my mother has actively watched with me, too. Sometimes she wanders out looking bored halfway through. (Rose.) Sometimes she pretends she's not watching but is hooked. (The Empty Child.) Sometimes she watches the repeat and makes a joke I didn't think she was going to make a week later. (Dalek.)
This one, though, my mum got all the post-modern references. More embarassingly, so did I. "Can the Doctor please come to the diary room..."

It was genius. Also, I had a cameo in The Weakest Link. Well, that's a lie, but time for a confession - my real name is Colleen and no one EVER spells it right. I mean EVER. And on The Weakest Link, one of the contestants DID. I can't describe the joy I had with this, as well as the knowledge that dude, my name will last that long.
Actually, it was very clever. I liked the references, because they worked. The music was all a bit loud, but god, isn't it depressing to think that Big Brother will still be going on then? I could also FEEL the hormones with Nearly Nekkid Jack. Somewhere, there is a picture. I challenge you all to find it.
I nearly died when Rose nearly did. I actually made 'eeking!' noises at the TV in general, and the response to her "death" was absolutely tragic and perfect. Oh, the look on his face when he realises that she's alive. It's so perfect.
Jack I am still in consistent squeeful love with, actually. He's so CUTE. He has a very live-in lover relationship with the Doctor ("Hello, handsome") and really, he's just... a lovely and welcome addition and flirst with anything. Adam made me want to throw bricks at him, I probably would have gotten bored with Mickey, but Jack? He works. De-Lovely.
The Controller reminded me of someone. I am unsure who, as of yet.
DALEKS! YAY! Time for a Dalek Slut icon in time for next week. Is it wrong to actually rather like them? How DID they survive the Time War, anyway? Does that mean there are some Gallifreyans wandering around? This leads me neatly onto my next point...
Bad Wolf. WHO IS IT? It's driving me NUTS! Is it Davros/Adam!Davros? Did that voice sound like the Master, or is that just my over-heated fangirl brain WANTING it to be the Master? I'm looking forward to next week, in a bite my nails/why is it over sort of way.
Actually, I've just been having some thoughts about the Face of Boe. Type 'boe' into a search engine and you gets lots of silly stuff. Type 'boe wolf' into a search engine and you do get some stuff about Beowulf. I don't know. I have the beginning of a thought forming, and I will put it up when I think it properly.
In completely unrelated news, I may or may not be lurking in the background of Confidential somewhere, as may the rest of the mods and a couple ofnew_who members. There are definitely some Collectormania clips in there.
Post-episode-squee included the beginning of a Super Seekrit Project with Iona.Soon, we shall be BNFs and Masters of the Universe! It's long, complex, but hell, it could just work!
I have been up for far too long. I know this because for some sick reason I want to write fic that somehow involves the hatstand. Other than the Doctor, it is the only consistent character. In fact, it may be the only one that hasn't changed in some way.
Now, I am sleepy.
