Adherance of the Repeated Meme
Jun. 14th, 2005 03:37 pm1. What six people would you invite to a dinner party?
Six, eh?
Miranda Otto to see if the myth in my head was real
Tom Baker/Brian Blessed for entertainment purposes
The Resident Lunatics as a single unit
J.R.R Tolkien just so I could talk to him
Karl Marx for after-dinner arguments
Stephan Fry, because he'd be fabulous to talk to
2. What would your ideal job be?
Dictator Of The Universe.
Erm, I don't know. My ideal job involves being paid to be a nerd. The job I actually WANT to do in a realistic sense is politician. I want to work in politics, get involved, change people's lives in what I hope would be a positive way, and while I'm at it sort out the planet. Ideally, I'd do all this in Europe as an MEP.
3. Which areas of the world would you love to travel to?
South-East Asia, because it's this utter mystery to me. I know it's terrible with political problems and impoverishment, but the place fascinates me. It's just so mystic and dense and faraway.
4. If you could have a super power, which would it be?
Oh, I'd be one of those cool superheroes that can do everything, like Superman. But without the stupid hair and silly costume. Being a female superhero, I'd be fabulously voloptruous and able to wander around in spandex and leather with no shame. Oh, and I'd have great hair too.
5. What's your favourite drinking liquid?
Tea. There's nothing better than a good cup of tea, no sugar, PG Tips, and lots of milk. Alcoholically, though, I've discovered the joys of Mango Malibu, orange juice and a shot of vodka. The alcohol cancels each other out and it tastes like fruit juice.
01: Out of all the 'famous' people you've met, which has been the most memorable experience?
Amanda Tapping, because she was the one who popped my con-cherry. On the other hand, probably Suanne Braun because she is the real Hathor. It was just... wonderful. Fandom bliss. I babbled at her, though.
02: If you had to chose to live without either music or fandom which would you keep?
That's the most horrible and awful decision of all time, as the two are so closey linked. If I HAD to, though, I would drop music like a stone in favour of fandom. Not only for the fandom itself - fanfiction and the like - but simply because I'd miss people too much.
03: Do you ever wish you'd done something different, not because you regret the choice but just because you think 'what if?' If yes, what do you wish you'd done?
All at GCSE, but I would have learnt what a marinade was and I would have taken geography. If I'd gotten my five As or more I'd be looking at Oxbridge right now, or ar least I'd have the option. No regrets whatsoever about my final grades or St Andrews, just a... hmmm.
04: Which is your favourite piercing? & what are you going to get done next in your attempt to outdo me?
Nose. Simply because it was the first piercing I got done all by myself that was in any way, shape or form Daring. I've never had any problems with it, it looks pretty, and it's sort of become a bit of a trademark. In fact, I'd just forgotten abou it really and now I've just remembered that I actually do have all these Anti Social Piercings. Gosh, aren't I just the rebel? I forget, sometimes, tat piercings aren't normal.
NEXT: depends. Either my tragus if I can get over my irrational fear of painful ear piercings or another in my navel.
05: If you had to make a time capsule for people of the future, what do you think you'd want them to learn about your life & life at the moment?
I have this fabulous picture of Collectormania, where we're all molesting a Dalek, and another where we look like we're about to die laughing with Craig Charles. Those two, for a start, because they're way too much fun. I've put in a copy of the Independent and some feminist literature, just to make the point. There'd be a pair of flares in there, too, as well as the first draft of my fic o' doom. Lastly, there'd be a CD of whatever I was listening too. Oh, and a printout from UCAS. That roughly sums up my life at the moment.
Anyone else got any questions then go nuts and ask away. I'll reply in kind.
Today, I went into college. The atmosphere was somewhat different to usual, however. Instead of hordes of Lower VI, there were hordes of fourteen-year-olds. Yes, today was Tester Day for the Year 10s, and El Sister was in too. In good old St Bedes tradition, they were easy to spot a mile away - they'd be the ones in the uniform. The only ones in uniform, to be precise. I tried to avoid her, though, thinking that she probably did want her Big Weird Sister gatecrashing. Besides, I feel quite scared taking on her friends when it's just me and zillions of them. As such, I logically thought that if I went into college for about 10 I would time it right and avoid her and friends. So, I drove in and made it for about 10 past 10. ent in the back way - via my locker - and headed for student reception. As I'm going past the corridor opening, I spot a tour. Of people in uniform. A susserus of muttering greeted me:
"Isn't that Megan's sister?"
It rose to "HI MEGAN'S SISTER!"
I waved meekly and scarpered into student reception, at least glad that I was dressed in suitably presentable (and dare I say it, indie-cool rather than geeky-cool) clothes rather than my usual garb which resembles a tramp. Fortunately, both Sascha and Natalie were in. I squeed in a sort of "I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU FOR AGES!" way and then proceeded to drag them outside to play Hunt the Sister now that I had reinforcements. It's much like Hunt the Slipper, with more humans and less slippers. We couldn't find her. I actually didn't see her all day, although I saw many of her small and weird friends. I laughed in my superiority of "this is MY turf and I am three years older than you AND I'M NOT GETTING A BUS HOME, OH NO." I was disadvantaged somewhat by the fact Dad was driving to and from college and sitting in the passenger seat the whole time, but still, better than the bus. I was also let down by the fact my old PE teacher recognised me and it took about five minutes for me to twig it was her. Also old maths teachers were there. Peculiar.
I also did some English revision in, like, a CLASS and read a whole chapter of a history book whilst absent-mindedly eating sandwiches. I feel proud of myself for this alone. I do feel a bit bad, though, as I've agreed to do six hours of lovely, lovely overtime on Friday. This means mising my history revision session. If I fail, I will know why and I will CRY. On the other hand, I'm really fucking desperate for the cash, y'all. Speaking of, the photos are through from the Leaver's Do and they're beautiful. The group one is just so much fun! They're also disgustingly pricey. Alas.
*wails* I need another job...
OOOH!
