Oh, god.

I really have nearly left college now. I nearly have all my forms signed and everything. So, this leads to NAKED FEAR and PANIC ("what's my PURPOSE?") as well as the sort of vague realistion that I really do have to move out in September. This isn't a bad thing. It's leaving me with more of a sensation of '... oh.' To be precise, I have to move into one room and be happy there for a year. Right-o.

So, I have to pack up all of my crap and move it out. I have quite a lot of crap, since I am one of life's hoarders. I am pretty low on clothes, it must be admitted, but that's because I gave them all to charity. Now, looking at communities lik [livejournal.com profile] thriftstoreuk I feel pretty stupid, as I probably could have sold a few of them. However, I have toilettries going spare. Ornaments. Books. A few DVDS. Enough memerobelia stuff to start my own version of Forbidden Planet for a few months. It will hurt giving this stuff up.

On the other hand, I really need me some cash, and I'd much rather sell it for a half-decent price so I can buy some new clothes/books/food before I go to university.

However, I am all of a dither. How to sell my stuff? What's the best website to shift it all? Is there a variation of stuff? There's everyone's favourite, Ebay, and I'm considering shifting some of my sci-fi stuff on there because I'll get a good price for it. And really, I have no need to cling on to some of it. The same is probably true of some books and DVDs, too.

However, what should I do with, say, the large collection of ornaments and knick-knacks that I've been developing since I was a tiny child that I could never bear to throw out? Given that two boxes of them have been in the loft for two years now, it's not as though I'm going to get separation anxiety if I throw it out. (Also I suspect I'll develop a terrible hoarding obsessive compulsion if I don't throw it all out now.) Some of them are pretty, some are a wee bit useless. What about a car boot sale? Once I've passed, I think one of those would be quite fun. More people invited, too, since we can split profits and extortionate cover prices too. Do little knick-knacks sell on Ebay? I am unsure.

CDs. Mostly Crazy Alternative Type Stuff and I have no idea what to do with them...

Finally (and these aren't to sell), what do I do with my collection of notes? I have eight folders (1 media for two years, two English, two history and three politics) and I only want to keep the history ones. Shall I keep the notes for posterity (dammit, these buggers were hard to organise and I'm childishly pleased to have them in a neat order, labelled and everything) or is it worth just recycling them and keeping the folders for university? I did that at GCSE - most of my folders from Lower VI came from my GCSE folders being used again.

Gosh, this is all so confusing. Seriously, do any of you lovely people out there know how good Ebay is for selling knick-knacks etc? I don't expect a lot, but a little money for my troubles would be fab. Or do I pin all my hopes on a car boot sale? Mostly because that would be quite fun. I'd be the youngest person by over twenty years.
