Every Brit on my flist, just tell me you're okay, please. I've heard from Andrew and he's fine, but his sister is stranded on the other side of London. My godparents are also safe and well, but rather terrifyingly, if he hadn't gone into work early this morning he might be dead by now.
Jesus Christ. I'm feeling rather patriotic and incredibly freaked out. London will survive, but people on my friends list all seem to be okay. [Unknown site tag] and
emmysuze, if you could put out a message we'd all feel much safer.
None of the other cities have been hit either, which is good news thus far. owever, it's horrible and awful and scary. I feel slightly sick inside, and I have done all day whilst watching the news surreptitiously in the lounge at work. God. I mean... it's just awful. Andrew says, though, that the city is almost getting back to normal - people are trying to get home in a mad rush. That's the same, right?
*crosses fingers for everyone* Glad to hear that
bad_sheep is okay.
Today, as such, has been a very strange day. What with being completely unaffected Oop North other than the horror, I did the cleaning as per usual, but left work an hour early for my driving test.
Um, I passed.
Let me repeat that:
I passed my driving test.
I may have only done so by accident. I rambled on to myself for the entire test, which was usually sane rambling "Okay, turn left, that's indicators, then mirrors...". However, it went nuts towards the end. "KEW ISLAND IS CLEAR! GOD LOVES ME TODAY!"
Only six minor faults (I cut a corner and he still passed me. Nice bloke) too. I'm so happy, and planning on going out tonight. I am, however, uninsured because Dad is doing something obscure to a chicken and I can't really bother him. The insurance will still be going through him, as I am skint, although I now have to pay for petrol, half of all repairs and tax. This is le suck. BUT YAY I CAN DRIVE.
Not that it'll do me much good, given that I'm going to The Planet Of The Daleks on holiday tomorrow. As such, I'm off to pack. Stay safe everyone, and I am available by text in case of emergency.
**
In case you weren't paying attention or are understandably skipping...
1. I AM SAFE.
2. AM QUALIFIED DRIVER.
3. AM AWAY TOMORROW.
