Jul. 29th, 2005 03:26 pmSo, I'm hungover. In fact, I am painfully hungover. I did not know it was possible to be carsick when one is driving the car, but apparently it is. You see, Jess came around last night, and we had a rather lovely Chinese take-away from the best Chinese in the universe. It's such a good Chinese that Nancy, the woman who runs the front desk, asked me how I was, had I left school yet, where was the younger sister and commented that she hadn't seen my mum for a bit.
Food is really, really important in my family.
So, we ate Chinese, we drank wine and we watched Moulin Rouge up until Roxanne. We then decided that it was too depressing to watch any further, so we swapped for Harry Potter and swapped the wine for vodka.
It was about this point that Day turned up with a video. I made him a drink from gratefulness. IT'S THE FIVE DOCTORS. OH YES. So I am now happy and staring at it in a manner of borderline salivation. But I will wait to watch it with Birdy after work, because anything is a relief after work.
Anyway. Jess and I graduated onto Velvet Goldmine and got steadily more slaughtered, and as she staggered off to the waiting taxi at around midnight, I passed out on my bed. Fortunately, I remembered to set my alarm. Not that I needed too - when I drink, I can't sleep properly once I've moved out of unconciousness. I was awake at half five, six, half seven and then couldn't move when eight rolled around. Sods bloody law.
So, work was pretty awful as you can probably imagine. I am so tired on top of being hungover. I've eaten now and it's staying put, which is fortunate, given that I reacted badly to driving this morning because of the scary bends and stuff. Work itself was a bit... ugh. I mean, poor old LB has been given some alternative medicine so she's been quiet and sleepy with occasional Moments. I was passing through the quiet room which she had been in all morning and there was blood all over the floor. I pride myself on my reaction. I went to get someone, who then sent me for the trained nurse, and I quietly cleaned up the quiet room, got some disposable gloves for the aforemetioned cleaning and did the washing required. LB had cracked her head on something, although none of us know what. Sensible money is on the corner of the wall. Awful, though - she was absolutely covered in blood and when Jean tried to clean her up, she screamed the place down. Poor, poor woman. It's very weird when I think that LB is probably three times my age.
I don't think I can face Homebase tomorrow, nor can I face getting out of bed early. An early night in not an option. The house is ALL MINE tonight, since Megan is going out to a "new music night" (read: underage drinking) and parents are off at a wedding. I have to play taxi to both of them, though, so no sleeping for Colleen. I think I might just throw a sicky. Really, what are they going to do? Fire me? Given that I only have three shifts left and I've eben there long enough for sick pay, I really don't care. Hmm. what illness shall I contract? Choices, choices.
ANYWAY. Parens being out means I can have what I want for tea tonight without considering anyone else's likes/dislikes. Any suggestions? I want to be indulgent. Suggest something really nice that you have to trest yourself.
And now back to a disgusting amount of reading. THE EYES THEY BURN. Although I may have a bath or something first. I still smell of cleaning fluids.
