Jul. 29th, 2005 07:41 pmI have tomorrow off work. I have just spoken to Andy in the most heart-wrenching tones, telling him how I had trouble getting out of bed (true) and my head was incredibly sore (true) and I suspected it was a viral thing (false) and I'd been dying of it all week.
Oh, my trusty viral friend. I remember getting a few lessons off in college like this. I feel a little bad, as I am a rather good actress when I'm only using my voice and Andy was concerned at me down the phone. Then I remember the pay I get at Homebase and no longer care. Hurrah!
I actually don't remember the last Saturday I had off. "That's a lie!" I hear you all cry. "You took holidays off two weeks ago!" Well, yes. But this will be more or less the first Saturday I've actually had off, as in flat out asleep for as long as I can be and a lazy day in between. Seriously. I didn't have them in high school, either, because I had dancing at nine am that would go on more or less all day, particularly if I was nabbed as an unpaid teacher for the baby class for a few hours.
So, I will be spending tomorrow catching up on sleep. This is a good thing as I really need it, and because my head is swaying slightly from six or seven hours solid in front of the computer reading fics an trying to find e-mails. Getting there slowly but surely, and I took a break to get some tea. I ended up being really naughty and buying a ready cooked chicken from Morrisons, because I absolutely adore rotisserie chicken. It's weirdly sensual - the chicken is warm, not too hot, just warm, and with a salad it's just... yummy. Plus what's left is going to make a killer sandwich tomorrow.
Also,
aramley sent me The Proclaimers, which is making me sit up and bellow it along. Fantastic.
ETA: but now I'm going through my sister's music out of some sick curiousity. Most of it is bog standard pop r'n'b plus a smattering of your traditional emo-punk-crap. She's even surprised me - she has Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" which I'm sorry, just makes me tear up and wail a bit, and there's some Alanis Morissette and even some Michelle Branch but some of it is leaving me creased up with hysterics at how awful her taste is. There's all of the cheerleader's songs from Bring It On. There's a remix of the Tetris song, a remix of the Oompa-Lumpa song, Daphne And Celeste and all in all I am happily lying on the floor in hysterics.
God, shes so cheesy.
