That sums up my mental and motor functions. I am running on empty, the little red light is flashing and I'm beginning to shudder along in the wrong gear. Body cannot cope anymore.
However, it was an absolutely fantastic night. Yesterday was mad frantic as ran around, getting phone calls off the entire world describing their woes and how they didn't know where I lived, etc, etc. I calmly straightened my hair, did my make-up and ate tea really rather fast before I ran out like an idiot to grab Rob (
rhaeselon). Except, of course, I got stuck behind some idiot doing 30 miles an hour THE WHOLE WAY. I nearly cried, I really did, but I made it back to my house by speeding the entire way back and ran into Simon (
zeta_of_s) who has only just turned up. At this point, I opened up birthday presents: Spearhead From Space from Rob and a bloody SIGNED copy of Knees Up Mother Earth by Robert Rankin. Boh of these made me insanely happily. I abandoned both to the mercy of my mother as I went to get changed. Iona (
loneraven) turned up as I ran downstairs with my top half done as it was fastened up. Oh, the sophistication. If I say myself, I looked pretty. The top was beautiful - purple floaty thing from Primark - and so were the jeans. And we know about the shoes, of course. I was just about ready to go, and we ran for it to the train station and met Jess and Day. Daryl turned up a few moments later we all proceeded to terrify Jess and Day. As Jess said on the rail replacement bus "... it's like lots of Colleens! Multiplied! It's scary!"
Hee. Although the rail replacement consisted a lot of me shouting directions into the phone at the A15 Cew, who were late and in a car driven by Kerry. I wouldn't let them off the phone until I heard my mother say "Hi!" to them at the front door.
Anyway, we made it to Liverpool and after a few minutes made it to pick up the A15 Crew (Kerry, Becky Y, Phil, Nat and Faye) and Helen (
sevenhelz) and then went to the Krazyhouse. I've been told repeatedly that I should go there, so I did, but it was a bit quiet earlier on. I was well-behaved at this point, and didn't mix my drinks. Everything I drunk was blue. To be precise, blue WKD and blue Aftershok. Right now, I think the E numbers are keeping me alive. Iona, sadly, had to leave early, but as I escorted her down the stairs, Enid (
baltaser) turned up! Which was a nice coincidence.
We started to dance a little while after this, and maybe an hour later we moved on to Baa Bar, or howveer you say it. Pound a shooter, and that's what counted. I picked something called a Sassy Bitch, downed it, and looked in an unfocussed way at everyone around me.
"I'm going to be sick," I muttered.
"WHAT?" someone shouted at me over the noise.
"Back in a minute."
I only just made it to the loo. Well, there we are. I've never actually been sick from alcohol before. It's not a pleasent experience, but I felt ever so much better afterwards.
I then melted on one of the comfy couches for a little bit, with Rob sitting on me and Jess and Enid dancing away. However, it was packed. One more shot later (I tried something quite nice called a Kamikaze) and we moved on to the tequila bar and once again comandeered some couches. There was some rather nice leaning on each other while other people had tequila shots. Uuugh to the tequila, but yay for the chance to more or less lean back and little and just feel warm and comfy. Which is probably not the right feeling for a night out. But there we are. It felt right at the time. Also, was slightly drunk. Jess and I also got far too excited about seeing a poster for Velvet Goldmine on the ceiling. We squee-d.
A while later, we headed back to Baa Bars and danced around for a bit. Simon and I had vodka shots, only the idiot woman behind the bar gave us a double vodka with ice with again made Colleen somewhat ill. Argle. After this, though, we made a very slow way to teh taxi rank, including time to get food and try and find Becky Y a loo. We didn't. I understand there's an £80 fine for it now, but she found a quiet bit, apparently. Oh, god. We're such skanks.
Three expensive taxis later, we made it home and sat up for much of the night on my living room floor, petting the dog and generally dropping off to sleep. I took my own bed at about 3.30am and missed the singing. Oh Dear.
I was, however, awake at 8.00am, when I came down to do hostessy things and make food, etc. I'm well-trained, me. Rob helped make bacon sandwiches and Helen helped make the tea and we slowly ate breakfast and spent the day unwinding, with people meandering hoem at varied times. I eventually dropped Simon, Enid and Rob off home and then came home where I more or less collapsed. Energy reserves have gone now completely and utterly and I don't think I can move very well. I have stuff to do and a phone call to make that might be potentially terrible.
Fantastic night, though. I enjoyed it really rather a lot.

Date: 2005-08-14 04:13 pm (UTC)1. I am jealous, as my social life seems to have evaporated of late.
2. Now you need to go detox for a fortnight, with early nights and glasses of carrot juice...
