Today has been something of an odd day.

To begin with, I tried to be productive and failed. So I watched Prime Minister's Question Time on the Politics Show, paid for my Christmas Ball tickets, and went my merry way to the psychology lab. I gave samples, had photos taken, had my handprints taken, explained all the fingers I'd broken, had skin tone taken and did what felt like hours of questionnaires, in which I tried to explain in my somewhat broken way exactly what my sexuality was. I think I broke the computer.

Anyway, it's £4 an hour and I have a few more sessions where they poke me or something, so it's fine. I then went to the piercing place with Lisa and absolutely DIED out of sheer jealousy. I want a piercing so badly, but I cannot afford one AT ALL. ARGLE. Lisa was going to get her nose done, but she wanted plain jewellery, which they did not have in. Alas etc.

However, I have mde £61.90 today. In theory. We worked out who owes who and what and that is how much is owed for me. I am going to squirrel all of this cash away for Christmas shopping. The plan is to go to Edinburgh for the day next Saturday to get it all done. HOWEVER.

Flist, I love you all deeply and strongly and with the firey passion fo a thousand suns. I want to do Christmas. I really and truly do. The fact is, I cannot AFFORD to. There will be cards and I want to make people a personalised CD or fic or something, but I can't actually afford to buy anything that isn't cheap and cheerful. I don't ask for anything in return. If I do get you a present (that isn't, y'know, a CD or something), it's because I want to, so don't insult me by telling me that I can't afford it - I can and I have carefully budgeted it so. I ask for nothing in return but your love. I don't expect any kind of gift, although I won't say no if they turn up. I do have a wishlist - I don't expect it to be filled.

Christmas. So confusing.

Anyway, I'm going to go and be practical now and revise for the Spanish test I have tomorrow (faily faily! Still not learnt my verb tables and NEVER WILL but only a few more weeks and then I am out of that lesson so fast they won't see for dust) and maybe look at my medieval history tutorial preperation. To be fair, I am more or less begging her for an extension on the essay, because I really wasn't able to work on Monday or Tuesday and it has thrown out My System Of Essay Planning.

In other news, I ended up in Dundee today. There is a story to this. It begins with us, once again, having no food, so we made a nice, clear list and a meal pla and meandered out to the supermarket. Or we were going to, because Katie's dad phoned. So, she chats to him and Sarah and Derya became... distracted by each other. I flail a little bit, fixedly tell myself that I will leave them too it and escape to my room. Katie comes into my room a moment later, and I get my car keys and whatnot. Derya comes in, looking a little flustered.

"Erm, would you mind just going shopping by yourselves?"

"Eh?"

"Well, me and Sarah have a lot of um work to do."

Me and Katie looked at each other and giggle. "Oh, 'working'," I say, gesticulating madly. "Sure, we'll go."

"Yeah," says Katie generously. "Enjoy your sex!"

Derya blushed and left and me and Katie giggled. And shouted suggestions through the door at them as we left.

So. We're in the car, and I put the radio on. I'm not much of a Green Day fan, but I do like Holiday. It came on the radio and as I slowly meandered around Abbey Road, I sighed. "This song is so good on a motorway at 80mph," I said, crawling along at 30mph.

"Let's find a motorway!"

I stared as well as one can who is paying careful attention to the road. "There isn't a motorway around here for MILES. BUT UHMUHGUH WE COULD GO TO DUNDEE."

We did.

We went to Lidl in Dundee to do our shopping because Green Day told us to. This was what we told Derya and Sarah when we came back nearly two hours later, having become very lost in the world of Dundee and squeeing at Lidl because it was cheap. We are Teh Sad.

And that? Was my day. Psychology testing, money and Lidl. I am such a rock and roll student.
