Dec. 29th, 2005 02:24 pmRight. I'm willing to take criticism, but when someone comments anonymously on a post to tell me that I am a dyke who converted to a straight side (conversion? wtf?), makes comments insulting my heritage and what I choose to call it.
I choose to have a public journal mostly because I'm intrinsically dull. No, really. I also suspect that the their amount of fannish glee and waffle puts off most readers, and the RL stuff and waffle puts of potential fandom stalkers. I'm not a particularly good journaller - spam, baby! - so people give up a lot. also, I can't be bothered keeping stuff private. Anything I do keep friendslocked or edited or even private is for, well, a reason. I'm upset, the whole damned world finds out. I'm happy, same goes, and if the world wants to piss on that happiness then it can GO AWAY. I am not about to start changing my profile because some clever dick who I probably knew from school or something (they reference the town I'm from and I tend to keep that slightly quiet) thinks it's hysterical.
Also, I can and will delete comments.
Buggar off, world. I am going to go to
loneraven's now and be really, really geeky. There will be Sardoth, Second-To-Last of the Jagaroth! And that is always good fun for any kind of conversation.
I would say 'in other news' but I actually have very little to write about. The weather! The old British bastion. It isvery cold but that's all we're getting, apparently. No snow for us, oh no. West coast is fairly warm, apparently, compared to everywhere else. I am going back to university on the second, now, and all the snow will have gone. Still, it's actually pretty here. Clear sun, blue skies, and a blanket of frost everywhere. It's actually very pretty. You know, if you don't mind having to defrost cars.
At some point I will do some university work, but that is not this day.

Date: 2005-12-29 03:07 pm (UTC)It's entirely possible that they're jealous, unless the "we have better sex" post was locked. Nuts to them, I say. And their white mice.
I love a frosted landscape! Except when I have to walk over it, and go arse over breakfast as result. However, I have no car to defrost!
(Also, first semi-excuse to use this icon! Squee!)

Date: 2005-12-29 06:33 pm (UTC)Defrosting cars is the most horrible thing in the world. I thought my hand was going to fall off.
And yay icon!

Date: 2005-12-30 12:04 am (UTC)congratulations btw (I had a slightly bizarre RL conversation with another LJ friend, who i know in RL, where we squeed at your good news, then both realised we'd never actually met you. it was perfectly normal to us, but of course we are wise in the ways of the LJ)
happy new year! (for soon enough)
