Today I have been to hospital. With herpes. It's Katie's fault.

Now, before you all jump to conclusions, these are hideously misleading statements. I drove Katie to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee becuse she had an emergency appointment in the eye clinic, and it's actually a coldsore, not herpes. It's funnier if we pretend, though.

Okay, it's not that funny. It is actually a hideous thing upon Katie's otherwise quite lovely visage and can cause serious complications, so like the good friend I am I took her to Dundee. Christ, though, I was there for hours. Katie is lucky she is so fab, because otherwise I would be annoyed.

I am not, though, because it meant we discovered the Kingsway Tesco and that is a positive thing. However, I now have, er, two days to do my entire medieval history essay (it's just a case of writing it up, it won't take long...) as well as edit the gobbets. At least they're written, though...

Erm, yes. There's nothing interesting to write here, other than that Katie is hideously contagious so have fun if you plan on visiting in the next week (why, yes, Simon will be visiting in six days) and also I have to go and make the tea now. I am well-trained.

... I actually have nothing else to talk about. By God, I'm boring at the moment.

Well, cold sores are caused by several of the Herpes viruses...

What's the difference between love and herpes?

Herpes is forever!

I know, it is technically true but also sort of not, but it sounds funny...

I am going to go and tell Katie that joke RIGHT NOW. She will probably beat me to death. If I never update again WE KNOW WHY.

Yay! Murder by proxy! Or possibly blog.

Herpes is seriously for life. The virus writes itself into the DNA of a spinal neuron, and in times of stress causes the blisters to form on the site of original infection. I've been infected since I was 5, so Katie has my sympathies. (Thankfully, for oral infections there's Zovirax!)
