Mar. 15th, 2006 11:32 amThe heating is broken, as is all the hot water. Oh, God, it's cold. I thought it was just my heating - I spent last night curled under two blankets, a quilt, a jumper, my nightie and a pair of jogging bottoms - but no, the entire house is down and we have no hot water. So glad I woke up too late to have a shower this morning.
In happier housing news, I have somewhere to live next year! We all got housing in Fife Park, which is obviously a thing of love and wonder. Erm, not Fife Park, obviously, because it is a 20 minute walk from down, but at least we'll be near DRA and there is a bus. No beach, but there are cows. The houses are quite nicely set out, and we get a table to make up for our lack of lounge. Plus, we're all a group so might have a spare room to make into a lounge, so that is all good, obviously. Plus we save £100 a year and oh my are my financial worries so much less right now.
Although I am freezing to death, which is bad. Brrr. *shivers* I also have a nagging feeling I am becoming ill - I fel all achey and stuff, can't stop sneezing and generally feel a bit bleurgh. I nearly made the entire section of the semester being healthy, dammit! So the lack of hot water is NOT HELPING MATTERS BECAUSE I WANT MY HEATING ON NOW. I might be a Hard Northern Bird but I'm only so good.
Right-o. Edit my essay and crawl back into bed for a few hours, I think. Brrr.

Date: 2006-03-15 10:15 pm (UTC)Fife Park won't be as good simply because there's not a beach, but I lived eighteen years of my life away from a beach so I think I'll cope. *grins*
