Mar. 16th, 2006 01:19 pmToday has the potential to be a lot better than it currently is. I have succeeded in all my tutorial reading, and as such actually have no work to do in the next week other than my other two readings, which I plan on doing in work because I go for HOURS with NOTHING TO DO. I have precisely one tutorial and one lecture to go and then it is officially the beginning of my three-day weekend. (Excluding the evening shift at work TWICE ARGH.) Even better, Russian Lit is in fact Russian History today and the lecturer looks like Giles would with a beard. And Simon is here in three days! So, today should be a good and happy day.
Thus far, today is not a good day. Firstly, the one hour in which I can eat has the entire town swarming with Madras College kids, which means I can't get near anywhere to buy food. Secondly, I am feeling increasingly ill. Sinuses blocked up, sniffly, freezing to death permanently, all that good fun. I wouldn't mind, because it is just a cold and thus far quite a mild one, but, well, I haven't been ill all semester and it picks NOW. Thirdly, it keeps on hailstoning everytime I have to go outside. This, obviously, makes me somewhat sad as I will now to get something to eat somewhere that's indoors, and that's an expensive past-time in St Andrews.
Oh well. Tonight, I can watch Firefly GUILT FREE and I can take time out to cook which will also be GUILT FREE. I am making a lasagne on Saturday, which can be baked when I am not there and a little bit can be kept for me. I am also debating making brownies for myself tonight, because I really badly crave biscuits right now and THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Tomorrow is the student elections, and, uh, I don't care. I know I should, but I am completely disillusioned. No attempt has been made to contact me (because, get this, I don't live in halls; I'm too far away) and most of the posts are useful but some are for shite like Debates Officer. I'm not a Debater and frankly I think those that do are fucking wankers. Only one dude has bothered to come around for Presidential stuff for me, so I might trundle out and vote for him. But yes, I am experiencing Political Apathy and it troubles me.
Oh well. Off I go to battle the schoolkids for food.
