Despite having been engaged for, oh, three months today (OH MY GOD HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG?! why, yes, it has, and celebrated with Tesco Extra Value Toast in bed this morning, rock and roll) Simon and I went on our ninth date yesterday.

We do stuff in the wrong order. I sort of know this.

I was absolutely bloody knackered, which didn't help, and I seem to be sweeping into a spectacular hormonal cycle again so I've been doing lots of washing-up - how fun - which took up all my time when I got home after a day of tutorial hell and also rehearsal busy-ness. I am officially Peasent Number One and possibly Robber Number Three if I'm lucky, but I am also apparently the understudy for the entire universe and played both Granny Weatherwax and Magrat last night, so that was odd.

Anyway. The ninth date, involving actually going out with just the two of us! And putting make-up on! Oddly excited! And we went to the weeny little St Andrews cinema to see

The reviews are pretty dreadful for it, and I can understand why, but I actually really enjoyed it. I liked the concept because it made me afraid about all the things I've always been afraid about happening.

I laughed possibly more than I should at the concept of the High Chencellor "a member of the Conservative Party..." and so did half the audience, whilst the other half coughed awkwardly and looked mildly insulted.

The action scenes weren't terrific, although the scenes of bombing were far more spectacular, as were many of the images - the rose, etc.

I remember the letter from Valerie being on [livejournal.com profile] trav28's LJ, so I smiled at that and tried not to cry at it BECUASE I AM TRULY PATHETIC.

Stephan Fry is as a god, but we all knew that already, didn't we. I can't really say anything new about it, but I would quite like to red the graphic novel, I think -it looks like it would have been better in that form. And I enjoyed it, and thought it was worh seeing, but I can understand why it got bad reviews.

Anyway. That was the story of How I Went On The Ninth Ever Proper Date With My Fiance. Good fun. And now I have to go and brave the weather to go and send a card, and then I have to brave the weather to go to work. *cries* Five or six hours of hell, in the RAIN. OH WHAT FUN THIS SHALL BE.
