Mar. 26th, 2006 08:54 pmI am, technically, at work. Now, work hasn't suddenly furnished me with a computer, internet connection and therefore GoogleMaps so I don't drive around with my map stuck to the steering wheel while I howl into the darkness "WHERE FOR ART THOU O 27 LANGLANDS DRIVE?" (Not, um, that I do that highly illegal thing. Oh no.)
I am, however, On Call. I find this the most excitingest thing in the whole world ever, although I would find it to be more so where I getting paid to be On Call. Given I reference this particular state of being to being a nurse or a doctor, and I am a delivery girl, I do sort of feel—
---
And I just went back on shift and just got back in. Harrumph. I have to go back out soon to cash up, God willing that there's no more customers. Being On Call got dull surprisingly quickly once I was, y'know, called.
However! I have been back long enough to do laundry and to discover that some lovely person, for reasons best known to themselves, decided to RemixRedux one of my old Stargate stories. I haven't been into SG-1 for a very, very long time, but I loffle it with a passion (Old Skool variety alone, I'm afraid - no truck with the new series, terribly sorry all). I wrote reams and reams of mostly quite dreadful fanfiction for it at the tender age of thirteen but I'm too fond of it to take it off the internet once and for all. As such, it lives on in the happy world of my Old Skool website, updated about two years ago for the last time ever.
And someone? Chose to remix my one and only Teal'c fic. I have no idea who it is, but they did, and it is actually very good. I liked the way they took the perspective thing. To whoever you are - and you might be on my flist, I honestly have no idea - thank you for having the patience with my 13 year old self and her shy forays into fanfiction. Beside Manners (Bedside Vigil Remixed) made me smile, mostly because the original is so purely cringe-worthy.
And I'll tell you all what I Remixed in a week. Might not be what you all expected.
Anyway. I have to go and take my laundry away and then I have to go back to work. Please, God, don't let anyone phone in. I'm happy poor.
