I have stolen a meme from [livejournal.com profile] loneraven in lieu of an ordinary post.

1. The feeling you get when you wake up, and it turns out you've set the alarm a few hours early and you can have an entra hours sleep. That is simple and utter bliss.

2. Being able to have a lovely long bath in the evening. I like showers, especially when I have time to do it properly, but a bath is AS THE GODS to me. I don't have a bth at university, and oh, I miss my Sunday night soak. I do sometimes get a bath in Cambridge, which is lovely. It makes all my aches and cares go away while I sit in hot water and some smelly bubble bath and read.

3. The smell of Man. Not in any pervy way or anything, but the catch of the deodorant or the shower hel he uses or something. Smell is the most memory-provoking sense and it's just all got such memories that I can sit in my room and drink it in and the horrible sensation of missing him lessens for a little while.

4. When I change the sheets on my bed, and fall into a lovely comfy bed that smells of freah laundry and conditioner. Yes, I may be a skanky student, but I use conditioner for my clothes because it makes them smell nice and feel nice and I can make a bottle last, erm, well, I have yet to run out of the one I came to uni with. But the first night in new sheets is the most wonderful nights sleep ever.

5. Actually, the sensation of the day after washing day, when I can wear anything I want. It is so nice not to do the usual flailing around and finding stuff that matches.

6. Ernst and Julio's White Grenache Rose Wine. It is THE GOD OF THE WINE WORLD. It's not big, it's not clever, it's not sophisticated, but it tastes of strawberries and summer fruits and I can happily drink a bottle until I fall over. I have had half a bottle of the Zinfadel tonight and I am a leeeetle unsteady on my typing fingers.

7. Music, in my car, being sung along to. I don't care who I'm with - I've done Once More With Feeling with more than one group of people and bellowed along to Placebo and The Killers and the radio when I'm alone, and I honestly don't care. I have it so loud that I sing and dance along to it, and it keeps me sane on long journeys and in work. I like singing and dancing along in my room or something, but there's no novelty in that. There is, however, still a wonderful novelty in being a thoroughly Anti-Social Young Person and blasting my music out in my car offensively loud whilst singing and dancing and terrifying everyone around me.

8. Eating. Eating good food that I like eating. I don't do that enough in university - I actually like potatoes and salad, how bizarre, and I live in a pasta household - but tonight I made baked potatoes with Greek minty chicken and salad and some nice bread AND IT WAS WONDERFUL and made me happy. I like eating.

9. Holding hands, in public, and not caring what anyone else thinks.

10. Biscuits. 'Cause I gave them up for Lent and I miss them. That is all.

Erm. I don't really have a real post to make. My housemates have gone away and it's the bizarre sensation of being in a rainy seaside town on holiday. Funny, that, you see, BECAUSE I AM. It hasn't stopped raining yet!

... I will write a post when I have something to write about. Or a meme to steal.

Do you not think the grenache tastes a little peculiar? The zinfandel is the drink of the gods! I adore the stuff. But the grenache is really a rad bizarre on my palate.

God, no, the grencahce is my favourite. The zinfadel is nice, I will admit, but I drank it solidly for TWELVE HOURS on Raisin Sunday so it will always have some faintly nauseous memories for me... I actually like the fruitiness of the grenache. It is like drinking strawberry juice, until you fall over.

I think that the one bottle I got of it may have been unrepresentative. Perhaps I shouldn't have left it on a radiator for four days.

I am posting excessively just to showcase the fact I have lots of new Remus icons...

On the subject of food, the staff shop has just increased the range of cheeses stocked. Dovedale, white stilton with lemon, wensleydale with blueberries and double gloucester with chive and onion sound good?

Mmm... strawberry... I like the sound of that wine. Must look out for it!

(I will reply to your e-mail. I swear I will. But I need to do some research on train times first, and plan-making seems to be slow coming.)

*flails*

Yes!

But in two weeks or so it will sound better because then there will be actual people in my actual house.

You are Most Awesome. You tempt me with cheesy wonderness.
