hathycolToday has been an absolutely break-taking beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky, and the sun has been beating down, and the wind hasn't been too cold and basically it's actually felt truly summery. I hav spent all of today nancing about in my jeans and a strappy top and I am slightly sunburnt. Score!
I have spent some of today in my gown. For those that haven't encountered the monstrosity of the St Andrews gown, it is, well, red. That's the first thing to remember. The second thing to remember is that it is designed to keep students warm of a winter, and possibly also be used as a secondary blanket for drunken nights outs.
This thing, in conclusion, is hideous for all concerned and not of the fun, but still, I swore it for the look of the thing.
There were news cameras everywhere, but I've been scrolling through and unable to find anything, which is sort of gutting. Numbers were pretty small, too, and I don't think it made a lot of difference, but still, here's hoping.
In other news, today has been the first day of Individual Shopping. I have stuff to make into bigger meals, althoug mostly I'm just using up the stuff in the cupboards, given we leave in three weeks and therefore need to eat all of that stuff up. I have a shiny meal plan and everything for the next week, although I am very glad I'm in a job that provides me with hordes of free food because it makes the next few evenings easier...
And now, I am going to bed. I am absolutely bloody knackered, my first exam is a week tomorrow, and I've not picked up a book yet. On the bright side, I got a sixteen on the Essay Of Death, so apparently am not entirely stupid after all. Hurrah!
