May. 7th, 2006 11:32 amMy download of Girl In The Fireplace is not going well. Normally, I can get a zipped file in about twenty minutes; all of the zipped files are on MegaShares, which every time I open I get a scary message of death telling me it's uploading new Windows Office Files, and I am of the breed of computer people who just flails at any sort of thing like that and hits at the computer when they come up. So I am downloading the wma version, which will be a bit crap, but I'm told the episode isn't very good.
Also, my downloads are not working as they should. They are downloading to a Temporary Folder, which they normally do not do and all in all I think I need to go and bribe Kim to come and fix my computer.
All that aside, today is Sarah's birthday and yesterday we celebrated that fact. A friend of hers came up to stay. He is, as fully agreed by Sarah who was too nice to say 'DEAR GOD NO' when he invited himself, the most annoying human in the planet. Stop randomly hugging me, or I will start randomly kicking you in the groin.
That aside, though, it was a good night. I came home from work to discover the house apparently on fire. Sarah wanted a barbeque, but in the fine tradition of all British barbeques, it rained last night, so there was a fire. On the porch. This was slightly terrifying, but it seemed to make her happy. I then drank some wine, and a little later on we made her a cake. To be precise - and his is terrible now that it is morning and I am sober, but it was hysterically funny then - we got the cheap cake we bought from Tescos and fashioned a marzipan penis on top of it. This is appropriate for a lesbian, you see. *nods*
Anyway. That aside (the photos ae hysterical, but no, they're not going up), someone had previously talked to us through the kitchen about a party in House Nine. Fortified by copious amounts of wine, off I went.
I stayed until 4.30am, despite the fact my housemates had long gone. Seriously, I sat around and talked about SG1, SGA, BSG and Star Trek all night. I was a happy, happy bunny. Also, I was completely slaughtered. One guy kept on trying to come on to me, but fortunately he took the hint of me sitting on the other side of the room.
I staggered back and the sun was coming over the horizon and the birds were tweeting. And in the grim way of all my hangovers, I'm too hungover to actually sleep, so I've been up for ages now. I will sleep well tonight. And possibly this afternoon, too.
Anyway. I have to actually start revision today.
Next week, I can watch Doctor Who, like, live! From the telly! Yay! I made a pittance last night, which doesn't make up for this morning. Grr.
